  1. 11. Robust Control of an Induction Motor Drive

    Author : Henrik Mosskull; Bo Wahlberg; Marian Kazmiekowski; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis considers robust control of an induction motor drive, consisting of an input filter, a voltage source inverter and one or several induction motors in parallel. The motor torque is here controlled by using the method Indirect Self Control (ISC), and power oscillations between the inverter and the input filter are damped by means of a stabilization controller in an outer feedback loop. 2. 12. Design and analysis of a novel low loss homopolar electrodynamic bearing

    Author : Torbjörn A. Lembke; Chandur Sadarangani; Hannes Bleuler; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Homopolar bearing; Electrodynamic bearing; Induction bearing; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : A novel homopolar electrodynamic bearing, together with a suitable permanent magnet drive, have been developed for high-speed applications where low losses and high reliability are essential and exclude the use of ball bearings, and yet where active magnetic bearings offer a too complex system solution. Considered applications are small turbomolecular vacuum pumps, and maintenance free flywheels for energy storage in remote telecom and satellite systems. READ MORE

  3. 13. Modelling, Analysis, and Control Aspects of a Rotating Power Electronic Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generator

    Author : Naveed ur Rehman Malik; Chandur Sadarangani; Torbjörn Thiringer; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Brushless doubly-fed induction generator; dual vector control; dynamic model; induction machine; internal model control; Lindmark concept; low-voltage ride-through; passive resistive network; rotating power electronic converter; rotating exciter; symmetrical faults; synchronous machine; thermal model; unity power factor; unsymmetrical faults; vector control; wind turbines.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the modeling, analysis and control of a novel brushlessgenerator for wind power application. The generator is named as rotatingpower electronic brushless doubly-fed induction machine/generator (RPEBDFIM/G).A great advantage of the RPE-BDFIG is that the slip power recoveryis realized in a brushless manner. 4. 14. Analysis of an innovative design of an axial flux Torus-machine

    Author : Maddalena Cirani; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The high compactness of axialflux permanent magnet (AFPM) machines compared with theconventional induction, DC and radial flux permanent magnet(RFPM) machines, renders this machine-topology particularlysuitable to be integrated in a system for hybrid electricvehicles (HEVs). Indeed, due to the limited space inside thevehicle, the considerable reduction in volume and weightoffered by AFPM machines is of major importance. READ MORE

  5. 15. Solubility and polymorphism of molecular compounds

    Author : Sandra Gracin; Åke C. Rasmuson; David J. W. Grant; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Chemical engineering; solubility; prediction of solubility; UNIFAC; activity coefficients; activity of the solid phase; polymorphism; controlled crystallization; sonication.; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the controlled crystallization of small organic molecules and is focused on solubility and polymorphism. The solubility was determined for phenylacetic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, p-aminophenylacetic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and ibuprofen in both water and in a range of organic solvents.
