6. Parametrically pumped superconducting circuits
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, I present the design, fabrication, and characterization of superconducting parametric resonators, for use in quantum information processing. These devices are quarter-wavelength coplanar waveguide resonators (~5 GHz), terminated at one end by a non-linear inductance provided by a SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device). 7. Electron-nuclear Dynamics in Nonlinear Optics and X-ray spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of the role of nuclear vibrations on nonlinear and linear absorption, pulse propagation, and resonant scattering of light. The molecular parameters needed for the simulations are obtained through suitable quantum chemical calculations, which are compared with available experimental data. READ MORE

8. Tunable superconducting transmissionline resonator for qubit coupling
Abstract : In this licentiate thesis design, fabrication, and measurements of tunable superconducting microwave transmission line resonators are described. The resonators are of quarter wavelength type were the tuning is achieved by changing one of the boundary conditions of the resonator through a tunable impedance. READ MORE

9. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton coupling and its effects on molecular photophysics
Abstract : The energy of molecular states and their transition dynamics form the key properties to understand the photophysics of organic molecules. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton couplings enable the possibility to manipulate these properties without changing the chemical structures. This is due to the formation of new energy states. 10. Experimental Investigation of Three-Dimensional Single and Double optical Lattices
Abstract : A complete laser cooling setup was built, with focus on threedimensional near-resonant optical lattices for cesium. These consist of regularly ordered micropotentials, created by the interference of four laser beams. One key feature of optical lattices is an inherent ”Sisyphus cooling” process. READ MORE
