6. Novel Processing and Electrical Characterization of Nanowires
Abstract : This thesis investigates novel electrical nanowire characterization tools and devices. Conventional characterization methods, long available to bulk semiconductor samples, have been adapted and transferred to the nanowire geometry. READ MORE

7. Silicon nanowires, nanopillars and quantum dots : Fabrication and characterization
Abstract : Semiconductor nanotechnology is today a very well studied subject, and demonstrations of possible applications and concepts are abundant. However, well-controlled mass-fabrication on the nanoscale is still a great challenge, and the lack of nanofabrication methods that provide the combination of required fabrication precision and high throughput, limits the large-scale use of nanodevices. 8. Polymer-shelled Ultrasound Contrast Agents : Characterization and Application
Abstract : Ultrasound-based imaging technique is probably the most used approach for rapid investigationand monitoring of anatomical and physiological conditions of internal organs and tissues.Ultrasound-based techniques do not require the use of ionizing radiation making the tests anexceptionally safe and painless. 9. 3D Magnetic Photonic Crystals : Synthesis and Characterization
Abstract : This thesis presents the synthesis methods and the characterizations of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles, silica spheres with Fe3O4 nanoparticles embedded, and three dimensional magnetic photonic crystals (MPCs) prepared from the spheres. The structure, material composition, magnetic and optical properties, photonic band gaps (PBGs), as well as how these properties depend on the concentration of the magnetic nanoparticles, are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID), Faraday rotation (FR) and optical spectrophotometers. 10. Fabrication and Characterization of 3C- and4H-SiC MOSFETs
Abstract : During the last decades, a global effort has been started towards the implementation of energy efficient electronics. Silicon carbide (SiC), a wide band-gap semiconductor is one of the potential candidates to replace the widespread silicon (Si) which enabled and dominates today’s world of electronics. READ MORE
