    Keywords : Humanization of technology; post-digital aesthetics; abstraction; materiality; immateriality; interpretative digitality; hacking; disruption; accelerationism; interactive art; interaction design; human-computer interaction.; Art; Technology and Design; Konst; teknik och design; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction; Media Technology; Medieteknik; Computer Science; Datalogi; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : I draw upon the idea of the post digital to create (1) art for humanization of technology and (2) art as manifestations of digital qualities in the physical world, e.g., through digital-analog convergence, or through enriching our experiences with hybrid constellations of techniques, concepts and aesthetics. 2. 2. Endocrine Disruption in Amphibians : Developmental Effects of Ethynylestradiol and Clotrimazole on the Reproductive System

    Author : Irina Gyllenhammar; Cecilia Berg; Ingvar Brandt; Lena Holm; Joakim Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Test system; Xenopus tropicalis; Rana temporaria; sex ratio; sex differentiation; fertility; aromatase; ovary; testis; oviduct; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : Amphibian populations are declining world-wide and one of the suggested reasons is environmental pollutants. Studies of long-term effects on the reproductive system in frogs following larval exposure to environmental pollutants are scarce. It is therefore important to develop methods to study developmental reproductive toxicity in amphibians. READ MORE

  3. 3. Experimental Disruption of Intestinal Mucosal Homeostasis : Exploring the Protective Potential of Melatonin and Misoprostol

    Author : Karsten Peters; Markus Sjöblom; Hans Lennernäs; David Dahlgren; Åsa Keita; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Intestinal barrier dysfunction; intestinal permeability; chemotherapy-induced mucositis; doxorubicin; 5-fluorouracil; apoptosis; proliferation; melatonin; misoprostol; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : The intestinal mucosa serves as a protective layer that separates the intestinal contents from the underlying tissues. It restricts harmful substances, pathogens, and undigested particles from entering the bloodstream. READ MORE

  4. 4. Cytotoxic Cyclotides : Structure, Activity, and Mode of Action

    Author : Erika Svangård; Per Claeson; Lars Bohlin; Ulf Göransson; John H. Cardellina II; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacognosy; cyclotide; cytotoxic; cancer; cyclic cystine knot; Viola; Violaceae; liposome; hollow fibre; homology modelling; mass spectrometry; amphipathic; structure–activity; tumour; membrane disruption; necrosis; Farmakognosi; Pharmacognosy; Farmakognosi;

    Abstract : Cyclotides are small cyclic plant proteins, and this thesis addresses their cytotoxic structure-activity properties and their mode of action on human cancer cell lines. Cyclotides were isolated from Viola odorata and Viola tricolor; three novel cyclotide sequences and two known sequences, but of new origin, were identified using mass spectrometry, amino acid analysis, and Edman degradation. Abstract : The transition of local news from the analog, printed format to a digital format, fit for our increasingly digitized media technology society, has not been as straight-forward as was imagined at the dawning of the World Wide Web. Newspapers, in particular local newspapers, were quite fast in trying to adapt to the new technology platform and put their content on the web. READ MORE
