  1. 1. Azimuthal Correlations in Dijet Events from Deep Inelastic Positron-Proton Scattering at HERA

    Author : Magnus Hansson; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elementary particle physics; Jets; Azimuthal Correlations; Dijets; Parton Dynamics; Low-x; H1; HERA; quantum field theory; Elementarpartikelfysik; kvantfältteori; Fysicumarkivet A:2007:Hansson;

    Abstract : Correlations in the azimuthal angle between dijets produced in deep inelastic $e^{+}p$ scattering events, collected by the H1 experiment during 1999-2000, have been investigated. Cross sections are presented as a function of the azimuthal separation between the two jets in the hadronic center of mass frame, $Deltaphi^{*}$, in different regions of the photon virtuality $Q^{2}$ and in different regions of the Bjorken scaling variable $x_{Bj}$. 2. 2. Dijet angular distributions in proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV and root s = 14 TeV

    Author : Nele Boelaert; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; black holes; ATLAS; large extra dimensions; perturbative QCD; dijets; gravitational scattering; LHC; Jets; Fysicumarkivet A:2010:Boelaert;

    Abstract : Dijet angular distributions provide an excellent tool for looking at high transverse momentum parton interactions in order to study both QCD and new physics processes. With the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) recently brought into use, an unprecedented energy regime has opened up. ATLAS is one of the experiments at the LHC. READ MORE

  3. 3. Search for new Phenomena in Dijet Angular Distributions at √s = 8 and 13 TeV

    Author : Lene Bryngemark; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS; LHC; quark compositeness; dark matter; pile-up; quantum black holes; Contact Interactions; 13 TeV; 8 TeV; beyond the Standard Model; angular distributions; dijets; Jets;

    Abstract : A new energy regime has recently become accessible in collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Abundant in hadron collisions, the two-jet final state explores the structure of the constituents of matter and the possible emergence of new forces of nature, in the largest momentum transfer collisions produced. 4. 4. Multiple Parton Interactions in Deep Inelastic ep-scattering at HERA

    Author : Sakar Osman; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Jet Calibration; H1; Jets; Mini-jets; MPI; Low-x; Multiple; Dijets; Parton Dynamics; HERA; Fysicumarkivet A:2008:Osman;

    Abstract : The production of jets with low transverse momenta (mini-jets) in deep inelastic electron-proton scattering is studied. The analyses uses data taken with the H1 detector at HERA during the years 1999 to 2000. READ MORE

  5. 5. Searches for new phenomena in inclusive and tagged dijet distributions at √s = 13 TeV

    Author : Trine Poulsen; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Dijets are produced in abundance at the Large Hadron Collider as predicted by quantum chromodynamics (QCD). However, several theories beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics predicts new phenomena, which also result in dijet final states. This thesis presents searches for such new phenomena using different techniques. READ MORE
