1. Anterior shoulder dislocation : Aspects of alternative methods of treatment and MR imaging
Abstract : Sixty patients (16-30 years) with traumatic primary anterior shoulder dislocation were allocated to arthroscopic lavage or non-operative treatment. The arthroscopic lavage group had a lower recurrence rate, better functional outcome and anterior stability after one year. READ MORE

3. The role of head size in total hip arthroplasty - Dislocation, wear and cup stability
Abstract : Large heads are used in total hip arthroplasty, with the aim of reducing the risk of dislocation, but there are concerns related to polyethylene wear, corrosion and cup loosening. Paper I is an observational study that aimed to investigate whether the transition from 28-mm to 32-mm heads and thereafter to 36-mm heads in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) after osteoarthritis has been followed by a reduction in dislocation rates in the Nordic countries. 4. Creep modelling of particle strengthened steels
Abstract : Materials to be used in thermal power plants have to resist creep deformation for time periods up to 30 years. The role of alloying elements for creep strength of 9-12% Cr steels is analysed. The creep strength in these steels relies on minor additions of alloying elements. READ MORE

5. Aspects on treatment of femoral neck fractures : studies on treatment methods, surgical approach and external validity
Abstract : Femoral neck fracture (FNF) is a great challenge for today´s health care and is associated with high mortality and morbidity in the elderly. In the short term several studies in the literature have demonstrated improved hip function, quality of life and fewer re-operations in elderly patients treated with total hip arthroplasty (THA) instead of internal fixation (IF).
