1. Modeling the Microstructure Evolution During and After Hot Working in Martensitic Steel
Abstract : In this study, the goal is to predict the microstructure evolution during and after the hot working of a martensitic stainless steel with 13% chromium using a physically-based model in the form of a MATLAB toolbox. This model is based on dislocation density theory and consists of coupled sets of evolution equations for dislocation, vacancies, recovery, recrystallization, and grain growth. READ MORE

2. Tumour vasculature, oxygenation and radiosensitivity - a numerical modelling study
Abstract : This thesis aims to investigate theoretically how parameters such as vessel density, blood oxygenation, blood velocity, spatial oxygen variation along vessels, tissue oxygen consumption and their distributions in uence the radiosensitivity of tumours. Numerical calculations are made in Matlab using voxel-based models. READ MORE

3. Optimized Pacing Strategies in Cross-Country Skiing and Time-Trial Road Cycling
Abstract : This thesis is devoted to the analysis and optimization of pacing strategies in cross-country skiing and time-trial road cycling. In locomotive sports, it is well known that variable pacing strategies using changes in the distribution of power output are beneficial when external forces vary along the way. READ MORE

4. High-frequency noise in power grids, neutral and protective earth
Abstract : This licentiate thesis deals with the high-frequency distortion, 1 kHz and higher, introduced into the power grid by the numbers of power converters in use today. These devices can be a source of electromagnetic interference and equipment damage despite the fact that the equipment complies product-standards testing. READ MORE

5. Computational weld mechanics - Increased accuracy in fatigue assessment, distortion and residual stress analysis
Abstract : This thesis work is concerned with the mechanical response of welded steel structures, which are distortions, residual stresses, and fatigue. The accuracy of fatigue assessment, distortion and residual stress analysis using Computational weld mechanics (CWM) is focused. READ MORE
