  1. 1. Controlling Charge and Energy Transfer Processes in Artificial Photosynthesis From Picosecond to Millisecond Dynamics

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Magnus Borgström; Uppsala universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Artificial photosynthesis; Electron transfer; Energy transfer; Ruthenium; Manganese; Charge-separated state; Donor-acceptor; Fysikalisk kemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Physical chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes an interdisciplinary project, where the aim is to mimic the initial reactions in photosynthesis. In photosynthesis, the absorption of light is followed by the formation of charge-separated states. The energy stored in these charge-separated states is further used for the oxidation of water and reduction of carbon dioxide. READ MORE

  2. 2. Single and Accumulative Electron Transfer – Prerequisites for Artificial Photosynthesis

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Susanne Karlsson; Uppsala universitet.; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Artificial photosynthesis; Photoinduced charge separation; Electron transfer; Energy transfer; Accumulative electon transfer; Donor-acceptor; Ruthenium; Linear arrays; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Physical chemistry Chemical physics; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Fysikalisk kemi Kemisk fysik; Kemi med inriktning mot kemisk fysik; Chemistry with specialization in Chemical Physics;

    Abstract : Photoinduced electron transfer is involved in a number of photochemical and photobiological processes. One example of this is photosynthesis, where the absorption of sunlight leads to the formation of charge-separated states by electron transfer. READ MORE

  3. 3. Dynamics of Excitation Transfer and Charge Separation in Polymeric Semiconductors

    University dissertation from Arvydas Ruseckas, Chemical Physics, Chemical Center, Lund University

    Author : Arvydas Ruseckas; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [1999]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Anisotropy; Photoinduced absorption; Femtosecond spectroscopy; Polythiophene; Conjugated polymers; Donor-Acceptor Complexes; Carbazole; Charge separation; Excitation transfer; Recombination; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Dynamics of optically excited electronic states have been studied in solid films and solutions of semiconducting polymers and model compounds. Transient absorption, monitored in the spectral range from 0.9 eV to 2.5 eV with a time resolution of about 100 fs, was the main experimental technique. READ MORE

  4. 4. 31 P- and 65 Cu- solid state NMR studies of Cu(I) di-alkyl-dithiophosphates : complex Formation Mechanism on Synthetic Chalcocite Surfaces

    University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Daniela Rusanova; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry of Interfaces; Gränsytors kemi;

    Abstract : Alkyl substituted derivatives of dithiophosphoric acid are frequently used as collectors in froth flotation enrichment of copper sulfide ores. Due to interaction between Cu atoms at the surface and thiol collector molecules, a concomitant adsorption process occurs on the mineral surface. READ MORE

  5. 5. Protein-Carbohydrate Interactions: Deoxylactosides as probes for the bindingspecificity of betha-galactoside binding lectin

    University dissertation from Organic Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Tomas Ekberg; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; molecular modelling; calorimetry; competitive inhibition; molecular recognition; lectin; Erythrina corallodendron; glycoside synthesis; Lactose analogues; lactosyl ceramide; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : a) The use of a solid phase reaction (silver silicate) for avoiding ortho ester formation in some difficult glycosyl donor/acceptor systems. Thus seven monodeoxygenated analogues of 2-(Trimethylsilyl)ethyl betha-lactoside were synthesiszed. READ MORE
