  1. 1. Phase Formation of Nanolaminated Transition Metal Carbide Thin Films

    Author : Chung-Chuan Lai; Johanna Rosén; Per Eklund; Lars Hultman; Miladin Radovic; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Research on inherently nanolaminated transition metal carbides is inspired by their unique properties combining metals and ceramics, such as higher damage tolerance, better machinability and lower brittleness compared to the binary counterparts, yet retaining the metallic conductivity. The interesting properties are related to their laminated structure, composed of transition-metalcarbide layers interleaved by non-transition-metal (carbide) layers. READ MORE

  2. 2. Experimental investigation of molecular solids and vanadium at high pressure and temperature

    Author : Zsolt Jenei; Reinhold Schuch; William Evans; Stefan Klotz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; molecular solid; high pressure; vanadium; phase transition; Physics; Fysik; Physics Of Matter; materiefysik;

    Abstract : Understanding high pressure effects on simple molecular system is of great interest for condensed matter science and geophysics. Accessing the static pressure and temperature regions found in planetary interiors is made possible by the development of the Diamond Anvil Cell technique. READ MORE

  3. 3. Continuum Percolation in non-Euclidean Spaces

    Author : Johan Tykesson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bernoulli percolation; continuum percolation; dependent percolation; double phase transition; hyperbolic space; Poisson Boolean model; geodesic percolation; continuum percolation;

    Abstract : In this thesis we first consider the Poisson Boolean model of continuum percolation in $n$-dimensional hyperbolic space ${\mathbb H}^n$. Let $R$ be the radius of the balls in the model, and $\lambda$ the intensity of the underlying Poisson process. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bandgap Engineering of Lead-Free Halide Double Perovskites

    Author : Fuxiang Ji; Feng Gao; Feng Wang; Niclas Solin; David Mitzi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lead-free halide double perovskites; Metal doping alloying; Bandgap engineering; Atomic-level structure; Thermochromism;

    Abstract : Lead-free halide double perovskites (HDPs, A2BIBIIIX6) with attractive optical and electronic features are regarded as one of the most promising alternatives to overcome the toxicity and stability issues of lead halide perovskites. They provide a wide range of possible combinations and rich substitutional chemistry with interesting properties for various optoelectronic devices. READ MORE
