21. Introducing Surface Gravity Waves into Earth System Models
Abstract : Surface gravity waves alter the turbulence of the bottom atmosphere and the upper ocean. Accordingly, they can affect momentum flux, heat fluxes, gas exchange and atmospheric mixing. However, in most state-of-the-art Earth System Models (ESMs), surface wave influences are not fully considered or even included. READ MORE

22. Non-destructive measurement of near-surface cracks in railheads : with focus on ultrasonic inspections
Abstract : Near-surface cracks in railhead that caused by rolling contact fatigue (RCF) is one of a kind rail defects that degrade rail track quality. Dependent on the trail load, the cracks can reach to severe level quickly. READ MORE

23. VLF Chorus Activity Associated with Substorm Particle Injections
Abstract : The Substorm Chorus Event (SCE) is a Very Low Frequency(VLF) radio phenomenon observed on the ground after the onsetof the substorm expansion phase. It consists of a band of VLFchorus emissions with rising upper and lower cutofffrequencies. READ MORE

24. Impact of surface gravity waves on air-sea fluxes and upper-ocean mixing
Abstract : Surface gravity waves play a vital role in the air-sea interaction. They can alter the turbulence ofthe bottom atmospheric layer as well as the upper-ocean layer. Accordingly, they can affect themomentum flux, heat fluxes, as well as the upper-ocean mixing. In most numerical models, waveinfluences are not considered or not fully considered. READ MORE

25. Dynamic Characteristics of Floating Breakwaters
Abstract : The dynamic behaviour of interconnected floating breakwaters has been studied theoretically and experimentally. For this type of shore-protection system, problems that must be dealt with include wave loads on the breakwaters caused by the interaction between the bodies and the waves, motions of the moored breakwaters caused by the waves, changed wave fields in front of and behind the breakwaters, and forces on the mooring cables and in interconnections between breakwater units.
