  1. 1. Driver Experience and Acceptance of Driver Support Systems - A Case of Speed Adaptation

    Author : Emeli Adell; Trafik och väg; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; speed support; ISA; driver support systems; Driver experiences; acceptance; UTAUT; ADAS; field trial;

    Abstract : Substantial research and development efforts are being made to add driver support systems to the arsenal of traffic safety measures. Obviously, the system cannot reduce fatalities and trauma until it is actually used. Hence, drivers’ experiences and acceptance of the system are of paramount importance. READ MORE

  2. 2. Facing failures : interactions between drivers and advanced driver assistance systems

    Author : Niklas Strand; Håkan Alm; Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut; []

    Abstract : Drivers’ interactions with advanced driver assistance systems based on experiences from real driving and results from driving in a driving simulator were under investigation in this thesis. Questions posed were: - How do drivers perceive and interact with ADAS? - How are (technical) failures handled by drivers, and which are the consequences’ of these failures? - Which are the implications for diagnosis and detection of failures, as well as for system development? Special attention was given to driver behavior in response to technical failures in an adaptive cruise control system. READ MORE

  3. 3. Drivers of customers' service experiences : a customer perspective on co-creation of restaurant services, focusing on interactions, processes and activities

    Abstract : Drivers’ interactions with automation based on experiences from real driving, and results from driving simulators were under investigation in this thesis. The thesis had a mixed methods research approach and was exploratory. Special attention has been given to driver behavior on exposure to unexpected automation failures. READ MORE

  5. 5. The driver and the instrument panel

    Author : Phillip Tretten; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell design; Industrial Design;

    Abstract : The trend today is to produce automobiles that have exciting systems which enhance the users' driving experiences, however, the distraction potential of these systems has not fully been considered. Since there can be large differences in the driver's level of distraction caused by visual overload due to individual and cultural characteristics. READ MORE
