16. Effects of a Novel Amphiphilic Graft Copolymer on Ternary Mixtures of Surfactant, Water, and Oil
Abstract : An amphiphilic graft copolymer, with hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) monomethyl ether side chains grafted onto a hydrophobic poly(dodecyl methacrylate) backbone, has been synthesized. The side chains are water soluble and the backbone is soluble in oils such as cyclohexane and isooctane. READ MORE

17. On the Structure and Dynamics of Polyelectrolyte Gel Systems and Gel-surfactant Complexes
Abstract : This thesis describes the results of experimental work on polyelectrolyte gels and their interaction with oppositely charged surfactants, and presents two new algorithms applicable to the simulation of colloid and polymer systems. The model systems investigated were crosslinked poly(acrylate) (PA) and poly(styrene sulphonate) (PSS), and the surfactant was dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide (DoTAB). 18. Protein stabilization. Some methods and mechanisms
Abstract : The effect of different additives on protein stability was studied, and the basis for stabilization was investigated at molecular level. The addition of sorbitol enhanced thermal stability of hen egg white lysozyme in aqueous solution. READ MORE

19. Versatile Association Behavior in Mixtures of Oppositely Charged Amphiphiles : From DNA-Like Assembly of Supramolecular Helices to Coacervation in Chiral Surfactant Systems
Abstract : As biological surfactants, bile salts (BSs), play important roles in biological processes, i.e., food digestion, but also in BS-related diseases, as well as in applications. READ MORE

20. Microrheology of Concentrated Protein Solutions
Abstract : The behavior of concentrated protein solutions is of general high interest due to implications in, for example, biological systems and medical applications. It is necessary to investigate the rheological properties of such systems to understand how parameters, such as stability, are affected by the high concentrations. READ MORE
