  1. 11. Finite Element Procedures in Modelling the Dynamic Properties of Rubber

    Author : Anders K Olsson; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; akustik; vibration and acoustic engineering; Materiallära; materialteknik; Mechanical engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; Material technology; dynamic; amplitude; frequency; Technological sciences; Teknik; FEM; rubber; vibrationer; vakuumteknik; Maskinteknik; hydraulik;

    Abstract : Rubber is not only a non-linear elastic material, it is also dependent on strain rate, temperature and strain amplitude. The non-linear elastic property and the strain amplitude dependence give a non-linear dynamic behavior that is covered by the models suggested in this thesis. READ MORE

  2. 12. Dynamic Characteristics of Floating Breakwaters

    Author : Aurora Xiaomeng Lei; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; floating breakwaters; couplings joints ; dynamic cables; dynamic response; line tension; wave attenuation; wave reflection;

    Abstract : The dynamic behaviour of interconnected floating breakwaters has been studied theoretically and experimentally. For this type of shore-protection system, problems that must be dealt with include wave loads on the breakwaters caused by the interaction between the bodies and the waves, motions of the moored breakwaters caused by the waves, changed wave fields in front of and behind the breakwaters, and forces on the mooring cables and in interconnections between breakwater units. 3. 13. Model-Based Investigation of Machining Systems Characteristics : Static and Dynamic Stability Analysis

    Author : Andreas Archenti; Mihai Nicolescu; Amir Rashid; KTH; []
    Keywords : Machining systems; modelling; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The increasing demands for precision and efficiency in machining call for new control strategies for machining systems based on the identification of static and dynamic characteristics under operational conditions. By considering the machining system as a closed-loop system consisting of a machine tool structure and a machining process, the join system characteristics can be analyzed. READ MORE

  4. 14. Long-term metal retention processes in a peat bog : Field studies, data and modelling

    Author : Kristina Syrovetnik; Ivars Neretnieks; Bert Allard; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Peat; heavy metals distribution; sequential extraction; binding mechanisms; modelling; metal sulphide oxidation; aqueous composition; sorption; humic substances; ferric oxyhydroxide; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The study was inspired by the need to assess long-term metal retention in municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills. The long-term processes in landfills are poorly known due to the relatively short time that such landfills have been in existence. Natural analogues where similar metal binding processes could be expected were therefore sought for. READ MORE
