  1. 16. Non-Linear Vibration and Dynamic Fracture Mechanics of Bridge Cables

    Author : Armando Leon; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cable Vibrations; Non-Linear Vibration; Dynamic Fracture Mechanics; Cable-Stayed Bridges; Dynamic Stress Intensity Factor;

    Abstract : In the present work, the non-linear vibrations and the corresponding dynamic fracture mechanics of cables of cable-stayed bridges are studied. The cables are among the most critical components in cable-stayed bridges and there are different damage sources such as corrosion, vibration, fatigue and fretting fatigue that can significantly affect them, thereby reducing the cable’s service life and even producing their failure. 2. 17. Understanding development of dynamic capabilities in industrialized house building : A case study

    Author : Petri Uusitalo; Lars Stehn; Susanne Engström; Micael Thunberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrialized house building; Dynamic capability; Case study; Byggproduktion och teknik; Construction Management and Building Technology;

    Abstract : Industrialized house building of multi-storey residential buildings is not only gaining practical importance in Sweden but is also emphasized as a way for companies to address the demands for lower and more predictable production costs, shorter delivery times and higher product quality. However, to be competitive on the market, IHB companies need to protect and capitalize their specific investments into platforms and organizations. READ MORE

  3. 18. Mehanics of Rock Fragmentation Static and Dynamic Laboratory Testing Applied to Aggregate Production

    Author : Bahman Bohloli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; anisotropy; aggregates; rock failure; saturation; Brazilian test; dynamic tensile strength; Hopkinson pressure bar; fragmentation; rock fines; crushing;

    Abstract : Knowing the strength properties of rocks is essential for calculating the stability of natural slopes, constructions in and on rock, excavations, blasting geometry, crushing, and drilling. When rock and rock masses are subjected to either dynamic or static loads, the tensile strength is determined by tests appropriate to the load type. READ MORE

  4. 19. Slab track optimisation considering dynamic train–track interaction

    Author : Emil Aggestam; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Modelling; Genetic algorithm; Slab track; Transition zones; Dynamic vehicle–track interaction; Optimisation; Measurement; Ballastless track;

    Abstract : Slab track is a type of railway track that is frequently used e.g. in high-speed applications as an alternative to ballasted track. Slab track is also well suited on bridges and in tunnels since no ballast is required and the cross-section of tunnels can be reduced. READ MORE

  5. 20. Synchronous Belt Mechanics and Durability - An Investigation Towards Life Prediction

    Author : Tomas Johannesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; load distribution model; synchronous; camshaft drives; mathematical modelling; timing; belt; dynamic; wear; simulation; automotive; belt life prediction;

    Abstract : An automotive synchronous belt transmits power and assures accurate timing between the crankshaft and camshafts. The automotive industry is very competitive: there is constant pressure to increase performance and lower costs. READ MORE
