2. Railway Track Stiffness : Dynamic Measurements and Evaluation for Efficient Maintenance
Abstract : Railway track stiffness (vertical track load divided by track deflection) is a basic parameter oftrack design which influences the bearing capacity, the dynamic behaviour of passing vehiclesand, in particular, track geometry quality and the life of track components. Track stiffness is abroad topic and in this thesis some aspects are treated comprehensively. READ MORE

3. Dynamic Characteristics of Floating Breakwaters
Abstract : The dynamic behaviour of interconnected floating breakwaters has been studied theoretically and experimentally. For this type of shore-protection system, problems that must be dealt with include wave loads on the breakwaters caused by the interaction between the bodies and the waves, motions of the moored breakwaters caused by the waves, changed wave fields in front of and behind the breakwaters, and forces on the mooring cables and in interconnections between breakwater units. 4. Controlling the dynamic characteristics of machining systems through consciously designed joint interfaces
Abstract : The precision of machining systems is ever increasing in order to keep up with components’ accuracy requirements. At the same time product variants areincreasing and order quantities are decreasing, which introduces high demands on the capability of machining systems. READ MORE

5. Dynamic train/track interaction : hanging sleepers, track stiffness variations and track settlement
Abstract : Trains have been operating on ballasted tracks for over 150 years. During this time demands from the railway organisations and from the industry to increase axle loads and train speeds on the existing railway lines have increased. The reasons for this are both economial and environmental. READ MORE
