  1. 1. Applications of Deep Learning in Medical Image Analysis : Grading of Prostate Cancer and Detection of Coronary Artery Disease

    Author : Ida Arvidsson; Mathematical Imaging Group; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Medical Image Analysis; Deep Learning; Convolutional Neural Networks; Prostate Cancer; Gleason Grading; Coronary Artery Disease; Myocardial Perfusion Imaging;

    Abstract : A wide range of medical examinations are using analysis of images from different types of equipment. Using artificial intelligence, the assessments could be done automatically. READ MORE

  2. 2. Water mist fire protection systems : The development of testing procedures for marine and heritage applications

    Author : Magnus Arvidsson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattendimma; brand; fartyg; kulturbyggnader; Water mist; fire protection; fire test procedures; Ships; marine applications; heritage buildings;

    Abstract : Modern, commercial water mist fire protection system technology evolved at the beginning of the 1990s due a need to replace halon fire-extinguishing systems and improve fire safety on passenger ships. This thesis documents the unknown water mist system development work by two Swedish companies during the 1970s and 1980s. READ MORE

  3. 3. Healthcare personnel's working conditions relationship to risk behaviours for organism transmission

    Author : Lisa Arvidsson; Bernice Skytt; Magnus Lindberg; Maria Lindberg; Mirjam Ekstedt; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Working conditions; healthcare personnel; registered nurses; assistant nurses; risk behaviours; organism transmission; infection prevention; self-efficacy; mixed-methods.; Health-Promoting Work; Hälsofrämjande arbete;

    Abstract : Background: Healthcare personnel (HCP) often experience undesirable working conditions. Risk behaviours for organism transmission can lead to healthcare associated infections and risk behaviours has been described to be influenced by working conditions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Polymer Displacement and Supermacroporous Cryogels - Two New Tools in Chromatographic Separation of Biomolecules and Bioparticles

    Author : Pär Arvidsson; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Biochemical technology; Polymer technology; IMAC; dye-affinity; affinity chromatography; viable cells; cell chromatography; non-clarified cell homogenate; cryogel; Polymer displacement; supermacroporous; Biokemisk teknik;

    Abstract : Production of protein is often accompanied with difficulties due to the large amounts of different biological material resulting from fermentation. This makes purification necessary and affinity chromatography is usually involved as being biospecific, although suffering from limitations as low recovery due to ineffective elution and inability to handle particulate materials. 5. 5. Intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms for B-cell lymphoma development and progression studied by global gene expression profiling

    Author : Gustav Arvidsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare hematopoietic malignancy characterized by frequent relapses and poor survival, partly due to minimal residual disease, whereby a subset of malignant cells, harbored in protective niches, survive treatment. In vitro and ex vivo experiments have shown that MCL cells can be rescued from apoptosis through interactions with non- malignant cells such as stromal cells. READ MORE
