  2. 2. The balance of splicing : A novel insight into the splicing regulation of high-risk HPV E6 and E7 oncogenes

    Author : Johanna Jönsson; Naoko Kajitani; Stefan Schwartz; Ola Forslund; Francesca Aguilo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HPV; splice donor; splice acceptor; cis-element; trans-acting factor; pre-mRNA splicing; splicing regulation.; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Abstract : HPV is associated with several cancers. The genome consists of a long control region, early (E1, E2, E4, E5, E6 and E7) and late (L1 and L2) genes. The E6 and E7 proteins prevent cells from entering apoptosis and regulate the cell cycle. A deregulated expression of these can result in malignant transformations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Regulation of HPV16 Early Gene Expression

    Author : Yunji Zheng; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; HPV16; splicing; mRNA; hnRNP A1; hnRNP G; E6; E7; E1; E2;

    Abstract : Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) is the most common high-risk type and isassociated with more than 50% cervical cancer cases as well as a number of headand neck cancer cases. The life cycle of HPV16 is strictly linked to celldifferentiation in the squamous epithelium with expression of the HPV16 earlygenes. READ MORE

  4. 4. The role of cellular RNA processing functions in Human papillomavirus type 16 gene regulation

    Author : Kersti Nilsson; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; RNA Splicing; Polyadenylation; DNA damage response; Human papillomavirus; Influenza A;

    Abstract : Infections with Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) is the most the most common, sexually transferred and is responsible for genital warts, cervical cancers and a growing number of head and neck cancers. Knowledge about how HPV16 interacts with the infected cell to regulate its gene expression is essential for therapeutic development. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Regulation of Human Papillomavirus Type16 Early Gene Expression

    Author : Xiaoxu Cui; Avdelningen för medicinsk mikrobiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human papillomavirus; splicing; hnRNP D; m6A; LCR;

    Abstract : AbstractHuman papillomaviruses (HPVs) are small non enveloped viruses that contain a double-stranded circular DNA genome of approximately 8kb in size. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of all cancers are caused by HPV infection. Cervical cancer represents the majority of HPV-associated anogenital cancers worldwide. READ MORE
