  1. 1. On Massive MIMO for Massive Machine-Type Communications

    Author : Ema Becirovic; Erik G. Larsson; Emil Björnson; Ayca Özcelikkale; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : To cover all the needs and requirements of mobile networks in the future, the predicted usage of the mobile networks has been split into three use-cases: enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low-latency communication, and massive machine-type communication. In this thesis we focus on the massive machine-type communication use-case which is intended to facilitate the ever increasing number of smart devices and sensors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Signal Processing Aspects of Massive MIMO

    Author : Ema Becirovic; Erik G. Larsson; Emil Björnson; Christoph Studer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Massive MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) is a technology that uses an antenna array with a massive number of antennas at the wireless base station. It has shown widespread benefit and has become an inescapable solution for the future of wireless communication. READ MORE

  3. 3. Versatile and Antique World of RNA : The Simplicity of RNA Mediated Catalysis

    Author : Ema Kikovska; Leif Kirsebom; Venkat Gopalan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Microbiology; RNA Catalysis; RNase P; Metal ions; tRNA Processing; Ribozyme; Mikrobiologi;

    Abstract : RNA is the only biological molecule that can function both as a repository of information and as a catalyst. This, together with the ability to self-replicate, led to recognition of RNA as ‘prelude to life’.My work highlights some of the important features of RNA as a catalyst, exemplified by RNase P. 4. 4. Gene x lifestyle interactions in type 2 diabetes mellitus and related traits

    Author : Ema C Brito; Paul Franks; Aline Meirhaeghe; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gene x environment interaction; gene x lifestyle interaction; physical activity; type 2 diabetes; European Youth Heart Study; Malmö Preventive Project; Prevalence and Prediction and Prevention of Diabetes in Botnia; PPARGC1A; CDKN2A B; HNF1B; TCF7L2; FTO; Epidemiology; Epidemiologi; epidemiologi; Epidemiology; genetik; Genetics;

    Abstract :   Background: Type 2 diabetes is thought to result from interactions between genetic and lifestyle factors, but few robust examples exist. The overarching aim of this thesis was to discover such interactions by studying cohorts of white youth and adults from northern Europe in which physical activity, genotypes, and diabetes-related traits or diabetes incidence had been ascertained. 5. 5. (Dis)engaging in moving-body practices : physical activity correlates among university students in Mexico

    Author : Vanessa Garcia Gonzalez; Ema Cláudia Ribeiro Pires; Bengt Richt; Sam Willner; Ángel Ramon Zapata Moya; Rosalina Maria Pisco Costa; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical activity; correlates; university students; moving-body practices; Mexico;

    Abstract : The aim of this study was to gather in-depth data to provide insights into individual, social and environmental correlates of physical activity in order to identify priority elements to design feasible and effective intervention strategies to promote regular physical activity engagement among university students in a middle-income country such as Mexico. The situation of university students (dis)engaging in moving-body practices was explored through the use of a survey based on the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and the construction of Moving-body diaries that included visual and verbal narratives.
