  1. 1. The uPA receptor in ovarian cancer. Regulation by EGF and the estrogen responsive membrane receptor GPR30. Soluble uPAR in diagnosis and prognosis

    Author : Emir Henic; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; G-1.; GPR30; suPAR; prognosis; estradiol; ovarian cancer; EGFR; ER; diagnosis;

    Abstract : Cell migration is the first step of the invasive process, which is part of the malignant phenotype, and the uPA receptor (uPAR) plays a central role in cell migration. We studied the role of EGF and estrogen on cell migration and uPAR expression in ovarian cancer cell lines. READ MORE

  2. 2. Looking for the high-mass progenitors of stripped-envelope supernovae

    Author : Emir Karamehmetoglu; Jesper Sollerman; Francesco Taddia; Punam Chandra; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supernova; Supernovae; Stripped-envelope supernovae; SN Type Ibc; SN; SNe; SN progenitor; Type Ibn; Astronomy; astronomi;

    Abstract : Stripped-envelope supernovae were thought to be the explosions of very massive stars (& 20 M) that lost their outer layers of hydrogen and/or helium in strong stellar winds. However, recent studies have highlighted that most stripped-envelope supernovae seem to be arising from rela- tively lower-mass progenitor stars in the 12 20 M(sun) range, creating a mystery about the fate of the higher-mass stars. 3. 3. Volatility and number measurement of diesel engine exhaust particles

    Author : Hanna Bernemyr; Hans-Erik Ångström; Nigel Clark; KTH; []
    Keywords : particle emissions; measuring methods; particle number measurements; dilution; rotating disc diluter; v-TDMA; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Today, emission legislations for engine exhaust particles are mass based. The engines of today are low-emitting with respect to particle mass, with the emissions approaching the detection limit of the current measurement method. This calls for new and improved measurement methods. READ MORE
