1. Identification and Characterization of Novel Candidate Oncogenes
Abstract : Using computer-assisted sequence homology searches we identified three genes encoding proteins similar to certain fusion partner proteins in cancer. The novel APRIL gene was localized to 15q25 and encodes a protein, containing an acidic amino-acid region similar to that/those of leukemia-associated fusion partner proteins DEK and SET. READ MORE

2. Molecular analysis of the FET family fusion oncoprotein FUS-DDIT3
Abstract : Chromosomal translocations leading to formation of tumor type specific fusion oncogenes are frequently found in human cancers. The FET family genes (FUS, EWSR1 and TAF15) occur in translocations with genes encoding various transcription factors in sarcomas and leukemias. READ MORE

3. FET proteins in cancer and development
Abstract : Chromosomal translocations leading to rearrangements of FET family genes (FUS, EWSR1 and TAF15) are found in numerous human cancers. These genetic alterations result in the formation of fusion oncogenes that express potent chimeric oncoproteins able to promote tumor development. READ MORE

5. Importance of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor and EWS/FLI-1 fusion protein in growth and survival of two different types of neuroectodermal tumor cells
Abstract : Treatment with comparatively low doses of the 3-hydroxy-3-metylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor lovastatin caused growth arrest in both melanoma cells and Ewing's sarcoma (ES) cells. In melanoma cells growth inhibition was correlated with a drastic decrease in N-linked glycosylation of the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), which in turn was followed by a decreased expression of IGF-1 binding sites at the cell surface.
