  1. 1. Anomaly Detection and its Adaptation : Studies on Cyber-Physical Systems

    Author : Massimiliano Raciti; Simin Nadjm-Tehrani; Magnus Almgren; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are complex systems where physical operations are supported and coordinated by Information and Communication Technology (ICT).From the point of view of security, ICT technology offers new opportunities to increase vigilance and real-time responsiveness to physical security faults. Abstract : Background: Great strides have been made in combating malaria, however, the indicators in sub Saharan Africa still do not show promise for elimination in the near future as malaria infections still result in high morbidity and mortality among children. The abundance of the malaria-transmitting mosquito vectors in these regions are driven by climate suitability. READ MORE

    Abstract : The effects of climate change are already being felt today, and future effects, which will be determined by the readiness and resolve of today’s world leaders, are fraught with high levels of complexity, uncertainty, ambiguity, and transboundary effects – characteristics of systemic risk. Since climate change is seen as a threat multiplier, the risks that might be impacted by climate change, such as floods and dam failure, will be affected by systemic risk characteristics as well. 4. 4. Biosensor-based Methods for Detection of Microcystins as Early Warning Systems

    Author : Lesedi Lebogang; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microcystins; Drinking water; Adda-specific monoclonal antibodies; Biosensors; Capacitive; Amperometric; Flow-ELISA; Microcontact imprinting;

    Abstract : Cyanobacteria blooms are a water menace since they produce potent toxins that have been implicated in poisonings and deaths of humans and animals after consumption or contact with cyanotoxin-contaminated water. Of particular concern are cyanotoxins called microcystins, which are hepatotoxic cyclic peptides known to promote development of liver tumors in humans and animals. READ MORE

  5. 5. Flood Warnings in a Risk Management Context : A Case of Swedish Municipalities

    Abstract : As a result of the United Nations’ International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (1990-2000), and recent high profile disasters, disaster risk reduction has climbed high on the international political agenda. There has been a paradigm shift from reacting to disasters towards preparing for and mitigating effects of disasters. READ MORE
