  1. 6. The Mesoproterozoic Hallandian event - a region-scale orogenic event in the Fennoscandian Shield

    Author : Linus Brander; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fennoscandian Shield; Hallandian orogeny; Eastern Segment; Protogine Zone; U-Pb geochronology; zircon; baddeleyite; Nd-isotopes; Hf-isotopes; tectonic model;

    Abstract : The Sveconorwegian Province occupies the southwestern part of the Fennoscandian Shield. The easternmost tectonic unit of the Province is the 1710-1660 Ma parautochthonous Eastern Segment, which bears the imprint of at least two metamorphic events; the 1460-1380 Ma Hallandian and the 1150-970 Ma Sveconorwegian. 2. 7. Metamorphism in the roots of mountain belts and its effect on rock technical properties : A case study of the Eastern Segment, Sveconorwegian orogen

    Author : Cindy Urueña; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sveconorwegian; metamorphism; hydrous fluids; microtextures; recrystallization; aggregate properties;

    Abstract : Deciphering the metamorphic evolution of the roots of mountain belts is essential for understanding deep tectonic processes involved in mountain building. The Sveconorwegian orogen in southwestern Scandinavia, formed during the Rodinia assembly in the transition between the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic Eras, has been exhumed and provides access to interior deep structural levels of the ancient mountain belt. 3. 8. The dynamics in harvested populations

    Author : Anders Wikström; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluctuations; temporal; state-space; Harvest; cod; vendace; elasticity; stage-structured; stochastic; growth-rate; Baltic Sea; Bothnian Bay;

    Abstract : We are interested in the effect of harvesting on population fluctuations and for that purpose we develop and analyze an age-structured model where recruitment is a stochastic process and the adult segment of the population is harvested. When a constant annual harvest is taken the coefficient of variation of the adult population increases for most parameter values due to the age truncation effect, i. READ MORE

  4. 9. P-T evolotion and High-temperature deformation of Precambrian eclogite, Sveconorwegian orogen

    Author : Lorraine Tual; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Eclogite; Precambrian; P–T path; Basal shear zone; Sveconorwegian orogen; Deformation; thermometry;

    Abstract : The 1.1-0.9 Ga Sveconorwegian orogen is one of several Grenvillian-aged orogenic belts that mark the amalgamation of supercontinent Rodinia. The highest-pressure rocks in the Sveconorwegian orogen are eclogites in the Eastern Segment (SW Sweden). READ MORE

  5. 10. Evolution of continental crust in the Proterozoic : growth and reworking in orogenic systems

    Author : Andreas Petersson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; crustal reworking; Proterozoic; O-isotopes; Lu–Hf; U–Pb; zircon; Crustal growth;

    Abstract : To understand the growth of continental crust, the balance between juvenile mantle derived extraction, infracrustal reworking and crustal recycling, needs to be estimated. Since the beginning of the century, the use of coupled in situ zircon U–Pb, Lu–Hf and O isotope analyses as a tool to address these questions have increased exponentially. READ MORE
