1. Estimation of state and identification of complex modulus based on measurements om a bar traversed by waves
Abstract : Estimation of state and identification of complex modulus based on measurements on non-uniform rods and beams have been studied theoretically and experimentally. Two principal cases were studied. In the first case, the material properties are fully known and the state at a section is to be estimated. READ MORE

2. Characterization of elastic moduli of single fibres
Abstract : The carbon fibre is one of most promising materials for high-performance composites since it is lightweight and strong. It has been widely used to build carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites. The carbon fibre dramatically reinforces the composite in the fibre direction. READ MORE

3. The influence of graphite morphology on the elastic behaviour of cast irons
Abstract : The morphology of the graphite phase largely controls the resulting properties of different grades of cast iron. In flake graphite cast irons, the mechanical properties are low while the thermal conductivity is high. In contrast, with spheroidal graphite cast irons, the mechanical properties are high while the thermal conductivity is low. READ MORE

4. Influences of the Graphite Phase on Elastic and Plastic Deformation Behaviour of Cast Irons
Abstract : The amount and morphology of the graphite phase largely controls the resulting properties of cast iron. For instance, in flake graphite cast irons the mechanical properties are low while the thermal conductivity is high. READ MORE

5. Local variability in chemical and physical properties of spruce wood fibers
Abstract : Wood is well known to be a heterogeneous native materialwith large variations in its composite properties, includingvariations whose origins have not yet been completelyidentified. Traditionally, the macroscopic variations in woodhave received the most attention; for example, the variation indensity from the pith to the bark in trees. READ MORE
