  1. 1. Models for the Procurement of Subsidized Air Services : Conventional Aircraft and the Adoption of Electric Aircraft

    Author : Alan Kinene; Tobias Andersson Granberg; Clas Rydergren; Valentin Polishchuk; Jesper Larsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In liberalized air transportation markets, governments often adopt subsidy schemes through which they ensure air services along routes that are deemed commercially non-viable but economically and socially essential. The objective of these subsidized air service routes is to ensure a minimum level of services to outlying communities or remote regions that are difficult to access—by other modes of transportation—from the capital, other main cities or a hub airport yet can not be served commercially due to thin demand. 2. 2. On magnetic amplifiers in aircraft applications

    Author : Lars Austrin; Göran Engdahl; Lars Liljestrand; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; magnetic amplifier magamp ; amorphous; power losses; control winding; self-saturating; hysteresis; converter; more electric aircraft MEA ; inverter; power-by-wire; dymola; permanent magnet generator; PM-generator transformer rectifier unit TRU ; constant speed drive CSD ; excess losses or anomalous losses; modeling; simulation; unmanned aerial vehicle UAV ; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : In the process of designing an electric power supply system for an aircraft, parameters like low weight and low losses are important. Reliability, robustness and low cost are other important factors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Conceptual Design of Propulsion Systems for Boundary Layer Ingestion

    Author : Sebastian Samuelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; turbo-electric aircraft; performance modeling; Aviation; boundary layer ingestion; aircraft engine; conceptual design; propulsion integration;

    Abstract : To reduce the climate impact of aviation new aircraft and engine concepts as well as improved design methods are needed. In this thesis, two fronts are explored. The first concerns improved methods for the conceptual design of the engine. READ MORE

  4. 4. Evaluation of Aircraft Actuator Technologies

    Author : Felix Larsson; Petter Krus; Alessandro Dell'Amico; Marcus Rösth; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The flight control actuation system is one of the most critical systems in an aircraft. A failure of this system cannot occur, since it would have catastrophic consequences. READ MORE

  5. 5. Analysis of Electro-Meachanical Actuator Systems in More Electric Aircraft Applications

    Author : Mohsen Torabzadeh-Tari; Göran Engdahl; Fredrik Stillesjö; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : Conventional hydraulic actuators in aircraft are demanding regarding maintenance which implies high operation costs. In recent years the focus therefore has been set on electro-hydrostatic and electro-mechanical actuators. READ MORE
