11. Visual evoked potentials in the horse
Abstract : Vision is an important sense for horses, both for survival in the wild and when horses are used for work, sport or recreation. However, it is often difficult to diagnose visual impairment in this species. READ MORE

12. Towards Context Information-based High-Performing Connectivity in Internet of Vehicle Communications
Abstract : Internet-of-vehicles (IoV) is one of the most important use cases in the fifth generation (5G) of wireless networks and beyond. Here, IoV communications refer to two types of scenarios: serving the in-vehicle users with moving relays (MRs); and supporting vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications for, e.g., connected vehicle functionalities. 13. Quantum Coherence and Quantum-Vacuum Effects in Some Artificial Electromagnetic Media
Abstract : The author of this thesis concentrates his attention on quantum optical properties of some artificial electromagnetic media, such as quantum coherent atomic vapors (various multilevel electromagnetically induced transparency vapors) and negative refractive index materials, and suggests some possible ways to manipulate wave propagations inside the artificial electromagnetic materials based on quantum coherence and quantum vacuum effects. In Chapters 1 and 2, the author reviews the previous papers on quantum coherence as well as the relevant work such as electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), atomic population trapping and their various applications. 14. Gap Waveguide: Low Loss Microwave Passive Components and MMIC Packaging Technique for High Frequency Applications
Abstract : The heavy congestion at the existing radio frequency spectrum allocated for the today’s wireless communications motivates and accelerates the research work at mmWave bands or even higher frequency range where more spectrum space is available for massive data rate delivery. The inclination of modern wireless system research and development is towards small size, reliable, high-performance and high-yield microwave multifunctional products. READ MORE

15. Optical spectroscopy of InGaAs quantum dots
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis deals with optical studies of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) in the InGaAs material system. It is shown that for self-assembled InAs QDs, the interaction with the surrounding GaAs barrier and the InAs wetting layer (WL) in particular, has a very large impact on their optical properties.
