  1. 1. Organic Materials-based Electrochemical Flow Cells for Energy Applications

    Author : Penghui Ding; Reverant Crispin; Viktor Gueskine; Mikhail Vagin; Brian Seger; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : To meet the 2015 Paris Agreement requirement of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C, the transition from fossil fuels to renewables (solar and wind) necessitates a rapid change of the energy landscape. READ MORE

  2. 2. Autonomous Lab-on-a-chip: solutions and fast prototyping tools

    Author : German Comina Bellido; Daniel Filippini; Edwin Jager; Anke Suska; Niels B. Larsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Autonomous Lab-on-a-chip; bio-chemical sensing; sensor fabrication; biosensing cell phone; 3D printed fluidics; 3D printed optics.;

    Abstract : In this thesis, solutions for the development of autonomous Lab-on-a-chip (LOC), and 3D printing for fast prototyping of LOC devices are investigated. Lab-on-a-chip devices integrate analytical systems and conditioning processes in a compact package. READ MORE

  3. 3. Epitaxy of oxide and nitride thin films grown by magnetron sputtering

    Author : Faezeh Alijan Farzad Lahiji; Per Eklund; Arnaud Le Febvrier; Biplab Paul; Tomas Nyberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The need for electronic devices with new functionalities has caused research to move in a way to design and utilize materials with high-performance thermoelectricity, widely used in batteries, sensors, and electronic devices. Two-dimensional materials (2D) with unique structures and remarkable properties have been identified to fabricate oxide heteroepitaxy. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mesoporous transition metal oxides for oxygen electrocatalysis in energy conversion technologies

    Author : Zhixing Wu; Emma Björk; Magnus Odén; Mikhail Vagin; Freddy Kleitz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Electrocatalysis, the foundation of electrical to chemical energy transformation, enables the mitigation of the electrical energy losses during reactions and the control of selectivity of the process to certain chemical products. The slow rate and the multi-step complexity of oxygen-associated reactions, namely oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), motivate the use of platinum group metals (PGM) catalysts, which significantly increase the price of the technologies due to the cost and scarcity of PGM-based materials. 5. 5. InAS Quantum Dots for Laser Applications and Pedogogical, Gender, and Multicultural Aspects in Engineering Education

    Author : Fariba Ferdos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gender; InAs quantum dots; SiC diode; engineer; online learning.; self-organised quantum dots; engineering education; pedagogy; molecular beam epitaxy; group work; cross-cultural study; quantum dot lasers;

    Abstract : This thesis builds on new cross-disciplinary research between engineering and educational sciences. Recently, two other theses that combine research in physics and education (Åke Ingerman, 2002, and Tom Adawi, 2002) have been completed in Sweden. This thesis consolidates a trend that can benefit both disciplines. READ MORE
