  1. 1. MEMS-based electrochemical gas sensors and wafer-level methods

    Author : Hithesh K Gatty; Göran Stemme; Roxhed Niclas; Anita Lloyd Spetz; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEMS; gas sensors; electrochemical; nitric oxide; hydrogen sulphide; nafion; nano;

    Abstract : This thesis describes novel microel ectromechanical system (MEMS) based electrochemical gas sensors and methods of fabrication.This thesis presents the research in two parts. In the first part, a method to handle a thin silicon wafer using an electrochemically active adhesive is described. READ MORE

  2. 2. Preparation and Characterization of Glow Disharge Modifies Titanium Surfaces

    Author : Björn-Owe Aronsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Titanium; surface modification; surface properties; plasma techniques; oxidation; surface spectroscopy; TiO2; biomaterials;

    Abstract : The main theme of the present thesis is controlled preparation and characterization of oxidized titanium surfaces. Such surfaces are of general technological interest. READ MORE

  3. 3. Investigation of electrochemical properties and performance of stimulation/sensing electrodes for pacemaker applications

    Author : Anna Norlin; Jinshan Pan; Dieter Scharnweber; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; pacemaker electrode; interfacial property; biomaterial; electrostimulation charge transfer mechanism; electrochemical impedance spectroscopy; transient processes; plasma electrolysis anodisation; porous niobium oxide; ruthenium oxide; nano-porous carbon; iridium oxide; titanium nitride; platinum; surface roughness; porous electrode; pacing impedance; electrode polarisation; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : People suffering from certain types of arrhythmia may benefit from the implantation of a cardiac pacemaker. Pacemakers artificially stimulate the heart by applying short electrical pulses to the cardiac tissue to restore and maintain a steady heart rhythm. By adjusting the pulse delivery rate the heart is stimulated to beat at desired pace. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrochemical Application and AFM Characterization of Nanocomposites : Focus on Interphase Properties

    Author : Hui Huang; Per Claesson; Orlando Rojas; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrochemical sensor; nanocomposite; graphene; carbon nanotubes; phytic acid; polyaniline; corrosion protection; silica nanoparticles; atomic force microscopy; interphase; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The use of graphene and conductive polyaniline nanomaterials in the field of electrochemistry is increasing due to their excellent conductivity, rapid electron transfer and high specific surface area. However, these properties are strongly dependent on the preparation processes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Zinc Oxide Nanostructure Based Electrochemical Sensors and Drug Delivery to Intracellular Environments

    Author : Muhammad Asif; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Sunil Bhand; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ZnO nanorods; Intracellular electrochemical sensor; Functionalization; Metal ions; Glucose; Human Adipocytes; Frog Oocytes; Airway surface liquid; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The nanoscale science and nanostructure engineering have well established in the fabrication of novel electrochemical biosensors with faster response and higher sensitivity than of planar sensor configurations. Moreover nanostructures are suggested and used as efficient carrier of photosensitizers for cancerous cell treatment. READ MORE
