  1. 1. Analysis of noncovalent and covalent protein-ligand complexes by electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry

    Author : Gustav Sundqvist; Harry Brumer; Per Andrén; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; noncovalent complex; droplet fission; nano-electrospray ionisation; mass spectrometry; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the application of electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) to the analysis of intact proteins is demonstrated. In papers I and II, the use of ESI-MS for the analysis of noncovalent protein-ligand complexes were discussed. READ MORE

  2. 2. On-line Electrochemistry Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry : Method Development and Applications

    Author : Camilla Zettersten; Leif Nyholm; Per Sjöberg; Andries P. Bruins; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with studies of on-line electrochemistry electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (EC/ESI-MS). It is shown that the use of EC/ESI-MS demands optimal coupling characteristics. Pre-concentration and desalting, due to matrix exchange, were demonstrated for the model substance 1-hexanethiol in an EC/ESI-MS setup. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mass spectrometric studies of cellulose ethers

    Author : Dane Momcilovic; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; biopolymers; Polymer technology; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; enzymatic depolymerisation; reductive amination; electrospray ionisation; cellulose ethers; MALDI; mass spectrometry;

    Abstract : Cellulose based derivatives, such as cellulose ethers, today find many applications in a diverse range of fields. The numerous applications put high demands on the technological performance of the cellulose ethers. READ MORE

  4. 4. Organic Phosphorus Compounds in Aquatic Sediments : Towards Molecular Identification with Mass Spectrometry

    Author : Heidi De Brabandere; Monica Waldebäck; Emil Rydin; Per J. R. Sjöberg; Rolf Danielsson; William T. Cooper; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrospray ionisation; mass spectrometry; liquid chromatography; organic phosphorus; aquatic sediment; eutrophication; sample preparation; extraction; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Phosphorus (P) regulates trophic status in most aquatic systems. However, only bioavailable P contributes to primary production. In most lakes and shallow seas, mineralisation of sediment P into its bioavailable form and its release to the water column is important for maintaining primary production. READ MORE

  5. 5. Integrated Micro-Analytical Tools for Life Science

    Author : Sara Bergström; Karin Markides; Marit Andersson; Marja-Liisa Reikkola; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Microdialysis; Multidimensional separation; Liquid chromatography LC ; Capillary electrophoresis CE ; Electrospray ionisation ESI ; Mass spectrometry MS ; Microchip device; Free drug concentration; Screening of microdialysates; Pattern recognition; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Advances in life science require knowledge of active molecules in complex biological systems. These molecules are often only present for a certain time and at limited concentrations. READ MORE
