3. Sleep, psychological symptoms and quality of life in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting
Abstract : In this thesis sleep, psychological symptoms and quality of life (Qol) in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) at the University Hospital in Linköping were evaluated. Interviews and 24-hour polysomnography were performed prior to surgery, immediately after surgery and again at one month, with a six-month-follow-up mailed questionnaire. READ MORE

Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to identify important aspects of surgical nursing care, designing strategic and clinical quality indicators in postoperative pain management, investigate content validity, develop and evaluate psychometric properties of an instrument to measure the indicators, test the applicability of the instrument and investigate patient and nurse assessment.To identify the important aspects of nursing care which might impact on quality of care in surgical wards, it was conducted 4 focus group interviews with clinical nurses (n=20). Abstract : The general aim was to examine the Swedish version of the Philadelphia Geriatric Center Multilevel Assessment Instrument, PGCMAI, in a population of old people with locomotor disability in Sweden. Specific aims were to examine whether the Swedish version of the PGCMAI meets the criteria of reliability and validity when assessing the life situation of Swedish old people with locomotor disability and to explore the pattern of the Swedish version of the instrument in respect of age and gender.
