1. Infrared Emittance of Paper : Method Development, Measurements and Application
Abstract : Thermography is a non-destructive technique which uses infrared radiation to obtain the temperature distribution of an object. The technique is increasingly used in the pulp and paper industry. To convert the detected infrared radiation to a temperature, the emittance of the material must be known. READ MORE

2. Studies for the Low Emittance MAX-IV Storage Rings
Abstract : This thesis discusses the feasibility of a low emittance lattice proposed for the MAX-IV storage rings. The MAX-IV facility will have two storage rings that are identical but operated at two different energies, 1.5 GeV for soft X-ray and 3 GeV for hard X-ray production. READ MORE

3. Emittance related topics for fourth generation storage ring light sources
Abstract : In this thesis several aspects related to a new generation of storage ring light sources are discussed. Due to a reduction of electron beam emittance, fourth generation storage rings provide synchrotron radiation sources close to the diffraction limit at X-ray wavelengths. READ MORE

4. Electron beam profile measurements and emittance manipulation at the MAX-laboratory
Abstract : The emittances of the electron beams at the MAX-laboratory accelerator system have been studied. Apart from the build-up of the diagnostic tools for precise determination of the beam spatial profiles, the objectives have been: a) to verify the accelerator design emittances at low currents and to try to determine the emittances also at high currents; b) to investigate possibilities to manipulate the emittances. 5. Emittance and Energy Diagnostics for Electron Beams with Large Momentum Spread
Abstract : Following the discovery of the Higgs-like boson at the Large Hadron Collider, there is demand for precision measurements on recent findings. The Compact Linear Collider, CLIC, is a candidate for a future linear electron-positron collider for such precision measurements. READ MORE
