6. Closed-Loop Combustion Control of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management
Abstract : The current Spark Ignited (SI) engine equipped with three-way catalyst offers low emissions, but has low efficiency at part load, which results in unnecessarily high CO2 emissions. The Compression Ignited (CI) engines have higher efficiency and hence lower CO2 emissions, but suffer from higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, and no three-way catalyst can be used. 7. Deformation Behaviour of A356-T7 Cast Aluminium Alloys Used in High Specific Power IC Engine Cylinder Heads
Abstract : The constant development drive towards higher specific power and lower displacement engines in recent years to produce environmentally friendly high-performance cars has placed increasingly high thermal loads on the internal combustion engine materials. Further, the advent of hybrid power trains placing higher demands on quick starts and a rapid approach to maximum power necessitates the automotive industry to move towards a more robust computational thermo-mechanical fatigue life prediction methodology to develop reliable engines and reduce developmental costs. 8. Thermal barrier coatings for diesel engines
Abstract : The upward trend in internal combustion engine efficiency is driven by the demands for emission reduction and fossil fuel depletion. No present alternative fuel can produce energy comparable to that produced by conventional oil; this necessitates the reasonable, efficient usage of oil. READ MORE

9. Orthoborate Ionic Liquids for Lubricated Interfaces
Abstract : The lifespan and efficiency of various types of machinery is often limited by the performance of its lubricated interfaces, which are formed by two interacting surfaces and a lubricant that separates the surfaces to decrease friction and wear. There is a constant quest for more efficient lubricants capable of lubricating non-ferrous surfaces. READ MORE

10. Novel boron compounds in lubrication
Abstract : Lubricants are used to control friction and reduce wear by preventing direct contact between surfaces in a relative motion. Most of the modern lubricants and lubricant additives have been designed and optimized for ferrous materials. READ MORE
