11. On Knowledge Creation and Learning at the Intersection of Product Development and Engineering Education
Abstract : Today’s demands on higher engineering education given the rapid transformation of society are, to say the least, multifaceted. Rapidly increased complexity of technology as well as adaptation to sustainability requirements are causing major transformations and mergers of whole domains of technology that strongly impact current and future engineering workforces within these domains, in particular, the need for new competencies. 12. Group work and physics – characteristics, learning possibilities and patterns of interaction
Abstract : This thesis explores group work in physics at university level. The guiding research interest is what happens in the students’ interactions during such (instructional) activities, focusing both on the physics content and group dynamics. READ MORE

13. Protection for Multiterminal HVDC Grids - A Digital Contribution
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to (1) enhance understanding of mechanisms that are important for the protection of high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) grids, and (2) suggest possible technical solutions. To that end, digital technologies were used both in simulation, as well as in a laboratory environment. READ MORE

14. Relay Feedback and Multivariable Control
Abstract : This doctoral thesis treats three issues in control engineering related to relay feedback and multivariable control systems. Linear systems with relay feedback is the first topic. Such systems are shown to exhibit several interesting behaviors. READ MORE

15. Contextualising studies in higher education : First-year experiences of studying and learning in engineering
Abstract : The study aims at investigating students’ first-year experiences of studying and learning in tertiary engineering education. At the end of their first year 86 Swedish undergraduates of electrical engineering and computer science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm were asked to reflect in writing on the conditions for studying and learning as they perceived them.
