1. Microsystems Technology for Underwater Vehicle Applications
Abstract : The aim of this thesis work has been to investigate how miniaturization, such as microsystems technology, can potentially increase the scientific throughput in exploration of hard-to-reach underwater environments, such as the subglacial lakes of Antarctica, or other challenging environments, including cave systems and wrecks. A number of instruments and subsystems applicable to miniature submersibles have been developed and studied, and their potential to provide a high functionality density for size-restricted exploration platforms has been assessed. 2. Enriching Automated Travel Diaries Using Biometric Information
Abstract : The methods for collecting travel data about travellers today incorporate either fully manual or semi-automatic elements, which makes the methods susceptible to errors. The travellers might respond subjectively rather than objectively or even wholly incorrect, albeit with or without purpose. READ MORE

3. Bank-Industry Networks and Economic Evolution : An Institutional-Evolutionary Approach
Abstract : The links between institutions and economic evolution, especially between financial institutions and industrial innovation, are poorly understood. Having Schumpeter´s theory of economic evolution as starting point, this study gives an outline of an institutional-evolutionary theory of institutional change, innovation, and financial systems, based on learning-by-financing within bank-industry networks. 4. Biomarker detection via lab-on-a-chip integrated immunoaffinity approach for fluorescence and mass spectrometry readout
Abstract : The blood/plasma protein biomarker profile represents the pathological and physiological changes relating to human diseases. However, the plasma proteome reflects a high degree of complexity that results in a challenge for most analytical methods in clinical diagnostics. READ MORE

5. A multi-modal approach to soft systems methodology
Abstract : The main aim of my research is to explore ways of enriching Soft Systems Methodology by developing intellectual tools that can help designers to conceptualise, create and evaluate different design alternatives. This directs the focus on the methodology’s modelling phase even though some ideas related to analysis also will be presented. READ MORE
