1. Malaria, B lymphocytes and Epstein-Barr virus : emerging concepts on Burkitt's lymphoma pathogenesis
Abstract : Plasmodium falciparum and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infections are recognized co-factors in the genesis of endemic Burkitt's Lymphoma (eBL), the most common paediatric cancer in equatorial Africa. This thesis work examines and discusses interactions between Pfalciparum and EBV that could promote the emergence of eBL. READ MORE

2. Remodelling of the cellular environment in Epstein-Barr virus infection
Abstract : For successful infection viruses modify the host cell environment by transcriptional, posttranscriptional or post-translational regulation of cellular signaling pathways. In the work described in this thesis bioinformatics analysis coupled with biochemical validations were used to dissect critical features of these viral strategies in the context of infection by Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), a human herpesvirus associated with lymphoid and epithelial cell tumors. 3. Altered cell metabolism and migration in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Abstract : Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a subtype of head and neck cancer, originating from the nasopharynx. The etiology of NPC is considered a complex interaction between Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) infection, genetic susceptibility, environmental factors, and lifestyle factors. NPC has the highest metastasis rate among all head and neck cancers. READ MORE
