  1. 1. Stochastic stability and equilibrium selection in games

    Author : Alexander Matros; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of five papers, presented as separate chapters within three parts: Industrial Organization, Evolutionary Game Theory and Game Theory. The common basis of these parts is research in the field of game theory and more specifically, equilibrium selection in different frameworks. READ MORE

    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ash transformation; process control; equilibrium calculations; boiler availability; failures; alloy selection; alloy degradation; vortex finder VF ; service life estimation; sulfation; chloridation; high temperature corrosion; biomass; waste derived fuels; forest residues; RDF; Biomal; slaughterhouse waste; peat; waste wood; industrial waste water treatment sludge; HAD; RSMT; Alloy 253MA; Alloy 310S; Alloy 800H HT; Alloy DS; Alloy 600;

    Abstract : The effects of greenhouse gas net emissions on global warming, stricter legislation on waste handling, and the pursuit of ever cheaper heat- and power production are all important factors driving the introduction of complex fuels in incineration plants. However - without fundamental knowledge regarding ash transformation, corrosion control, and materials selection – this introduction of potentially economically and environmentally beneficial fuels, might instead cause economic loss and environmentally adverse effects. 3. 3. Safe Robotic Manipulation to Extract Objects from Piles : From 3D Perception to Object Selection

    Author : Rasoul Mojtahedzadeh; Achim J. Lilienthal; Todor Stoyanov; Abdelbaki Bouguerra; Erik Schaffernicht; Patric Jensfelt; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Object Selection; Object Pose Refinement; Gravitational Support Relation; Inter-penetration Resolving; 3D Ranging Sensor Evaluation; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with the task of autonomous selection of objects to remove (unload) them from a pile in robotic manipulation systems. Applications such as the automation of logistics processes and service robots require an ability to autonomously manipulate objects in the environment. READ MORE

  4. 4. Partial and General Equilibrium Effects of Unemployment Insurance : Identification, Estimation and Inference

    Author : Mathias von Buxhoeveden; Björn Öckert; Johan Vikström; Rafael Lalive; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Labor Economics; Unemployment Insurance; Wage Level and Structure; Job Search; Duration Analysis; Econometric and Statistical Methods; Selection Models; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : Essay I: Wage setting models typically posit a tight relationship between the generosity of unemployment insurance (UI) and equilibrium wages. This paper estimates the effect of UI on workers’ wages. READ MORE

  5. 5. Communication in Games and Decision Making under Risk

    Author : Erik Wengström; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Communication; Repeated Bertrand Games Cooperation; Renegotiation; Experiments; Risk Aversion; Non-cooperative Game Theory; Selection; Loss Aversion; Timing of Uncertainty Resolution;

    Abstract : This thesis is divided into two distinct parts. The first part studies communication in games and the second part investigates individual decision making under risk. Chapters 2 – 4, co-authored with Ola Andersson, investigate communication and renegotiation in dynamic games. READ MORE
