  1. 1. Studies of Cherenkov light production in irradiated nuclear fuel assemblies

    Author : Erik Branger; Sophie Grape; Anders Hjalmarsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DCVD; Cherenkov light; Geant4; Nuclear fuel; Nuclear safeguards; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Abstract : The Digital Cherenkov Viewing Device (DCVD) is an instrument used by authority inspectors to assess irradiated nuclear fuel assemblies in wet storage for the purpose of nuclear safeguards. Originally developed to verify the presence of fuel assemblies with long cooling times and low burnup, the DCVD accuracy is sufficient for partial defect verification, where one verifies that part of an assembly has not been diverted. 2. 2. Experiment Design for Closed-loop System Identification with Applications in Model Predictive Control and Occupancy Estimation

    Author : Afrooz Ebadat; Bo Wahlberg; Håkan Hjalmarsson; Erik Ydstie; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Experiment design; System identification; Model Predictive Control; Building automation; Occupancy estimation; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop algorithms for application-oriented input design. This procedure takes the model application into account when designing experiments for system identification.This thesis is divided into two parts. READ MORE

  3. 3. Predictability in Equity Markets: Estimation and Inference

    Author : Tamás Kiss; Erik Hjalmarsson; Ádám Faragó; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Non-stationary regressor; Persistence Adjustment; Predictive Regressions; Predictive System; Present-value relationship; Return Predictability; Stock-return Predictability; Non-stationary regressor Persistence Adjustment Predictive Regressions Predictive System Present-value relationship Return Predictability Stock-return Predictability;

    Abstract : The thesis consists of three chapters dealing with predictability in equity markets. The first chapter analyses predictive regressions in a predictive system framework, where the predictor is an imperfect proxy for the expected returns. READ MORE
