1. Pharmacophore Refinement and Lead Optimization - A study of the benzodiazepine site of the GABAA receptors
Abstract : Structure activity relationship studies of synthetic flavone derivatives have been utilized to refine and evaluate a pharmacophore model of the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABAA receptors, originally developed by Zhang et al. (Drug Des. Discovery 1995, 12, 193-248). READ MORE

2. Mechanistic-Empirical Modeling of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Concrete Layers
Abstract : Three mechanistic-empirical permanent deformation models were evaluated under Swedish conditions with respect to traffic, climate and materials using accelerated pavement testing and long-term pavement performance studies. The mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide (M E PDG), the incremental-recursive mechanistic-empirical CalME model (CalME), and the PErmanent Deformation of asphalt concrete layer for ROads (PEDRO) model generally showed both useful features and limitations. 3. Analytical photoacoustic model of laser-induced ultrasound in a planar layered structure
Abstract : A way of describing photoacoustic measurement techniques is listening to light. Another way is as sensor techniques for characterisation of materials by means of light and sound interacting with the material under investigation. READ MORE

4. Towards enhanced sales and operations planning : Using machine learning for decision support in an engineer-to-order context
Abstract : All companies deal with tactical planning questions and decisions, for example balance demand and supply, to be able to create an acceptable delivery ability without too much inventory or resources/capacities. For that, some companies use Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) as their tactical planning process. READ MORE

5. An Experimental Investigation of Shape Distortions in Aerospace Composites
Abstract : Composite materials are increasingly used in primary structure of modern commercial aircraft. Its excellent material characteristics enables reduction of structural weight compared to traditional metal solutions and thereby offers reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
