  1. 1. Pharmacophore Refinement and Lead Optimization - A study of the benzodiazepine site of the GABAA receptors

    University dissertation from Organic Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Erik Lager; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Naturvetenskap; Natural science; Quinolone; Flavone; Pharmacophore; GABA; Benzodiazepine;

    Abstract : Structure activity relationship studies of synthetic flavone derivatives have been utilized to refine and evaluate a pharmacophore model of the benzodiazepine binding site of the GABAA receptors, originally developed by Zhang et al. (Drug Des. Discovery 1995, 12, 193-248). READ MORE

  2. 2. Mechanistic-Empirical Modeling of Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Concrete Layers

    University dissertation from Department of Technology and Society, Lund University

    Author : Erik Oscarsson; [2011]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; permanent deformation; modeling; Mechanistic-Empirical; rutting; asphalt concrete; full-scale pavements;

    Abstract : Three mechanistic-empirical permanent deformation models were evaluated under Swedish conditions with respect to traffic, climate and materials using accelerated pavement testing and long-term pavement performance studies. The mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide (M E PDG), the incremental-recursive mechanistic-empirical CalME model (CalME), and the PErmanent Deformation of asphalt concrete layer for ROads (PEDRO) model generally showed both useful features and limitations. 3. 3. Coupled processes in seasonally frozen soils Merging experiments and simulations

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Mousong Wu; Per-Erik Jansson; Bjorn Klove; [2016]
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Frozen soil; Coupled transport; Energy balance; Uncertainties; Merged study; 冻土;水热盐运移;耦合关系;水热平衡;不确定性; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Mark- och vattenteknik;

    Abstract : Soil freezing/thawing is of importance in the transport of water, heat and solute, with coupled effects. Due to complexity in soil freezing/thawing, uncertainty could be influential in both experimentation and simulation work in frozen soils. READ MORE

  4. 4. Road disasters? Modeling and assessment of Swedish roads within crucial climate conditions

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Alireza Nickman; Bo Olofsson; Per-Erik Jansson; Nils-Otto Kitterød; [2016]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road; Flood; Moisture; Temperature; Groundwater; GIS; Uncertainity; Sweden; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : An efficient maintenance of roads to ensure high accessibility and durability of the transport capacity requires an understanding of how the hydrological response depends on both the road and the landscape characteristics. New methods and data were used to identify and explain interaction between roads and surrounding environment and their influence on hydrologic responses both in watershed scale and road-section scale. Abstract : Metals have been used by humans for thousands of years, and this has resulted in increased concentrations in the biosphere. The environment around point-sources, such as mines and smelters, are of particular concern, as metals may accumulate to high concentrations, and potentially reach levels toxic to the local flora and fauna.
