1. Modelling of fatigue crack propagation in Inconel 718 under hold time conditions
Abstract : In this thesis an investigation and modelling of the fatigue crack propagation in the nickel based superalloy Inconel 718, with a special emphasis on the effect of hold times, is presented. The modelling work has been concentrated on describing the hold time fatigue crack propagation by using the concept of a damaged zone in front of the crack tip, which is believed to have a lowered resistance against crack propagation. 2. Phenomenology of Inert Scalar and Supersymmetric Dark Matter
Abstract : While the dark matter has so far only revealed itself through the gravitational influence it exerts on its surroundings, there are good reasons to believe it is made up by WIMPs – a hypothetical class of heavy elementary particles not encompassed by the Standard Model of particle physics. The Inert Doublet Model constitutes a simple extension of the Standard Model Higgs sector. READ MORE

3. Spasticity after first-ever stroke
Abstract : The prevalence of spasticity after first-ever stroke is approximately 20%, but there are no data on the prevalence of disabling spasticity. The reported prevalence of pain after stroke varies between 19% and 74%, whether pain is associated with spasticity is not known. READ MORE

4. Influence of the Substrate on the Internal Flow in Freezing Water Droplets
Abstract : A water droplet that impacts on a cold surface will start to freeze and in time ice will accumulate. To exemplify, effects of ice accretion is important in areas such as power generation e.g. wind power and vehicles located in a cold climate e. READ MORE

5. Exploring Reaction Pathways in Li-ion Batteries with Operando Gas Analysis
Abstract : The reliance on Li-ion batteries is increasing as we transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Despite their widespread use, a gap remains in understanding certain processes within these batteries, especially regarding the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and the impact of side reactions on Li-ion batteries.
