  1. 11. Development of infrared spectroscopy techniques for environmental monitoring

    Author : Jonas Sandsten; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; environmental pollution measurements; infrared spectrometers; diffraction and scattering; absorption spectroscopy; remote sensing; ray tracing; image processing; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Sandsten;

    Abstract : Infrared spectroscopy techniques have long been utilized in identifying and quantifying species of interest to us. Many of the elementary molecules in the atmosphere interact with infrared radiation through their ability to absorb and emit energy in vibrational and rotational transitions. READ MORE

  2. 12. Synthesis of 11C-labelled Alkyl Iodides : Using Non-thermal Plasma and Palladium-mediated Carbonylation Methods

    Author : Jonas Eriksson; Bengt Långström; Philip H. Elsinga; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Organic chemistry; isotopic labelling; carbon-11; alkyl iodides; acrylamides; specific radioactivity; carbonylation; carbon monoxide; non-thermal plasma; PET; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Compounds labelled with 11C (β+, t1/2 = 20.4 min) are used in positron emission tomography (PET), which is a quantitative non-invasive molecular imaging technique. It utilizes computerized reconstruction methods to produce time-resolved images of the radioactivity distribution in living subjects. READ MORE

  3. 13. Studies on organochlorine environmental contaminants with emphasis on analytical methods and occurrence in humans

    Author : Cecilia Weistrand; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Methods for multicomponent analysis of lipophilic organochlorine contaminants(OCs) in blood plasma and lipid-rich tissues are presented. By using the described methods, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCN), hexachlorobenzene(HCB), 1,1-dichloro-2,2-bis(4 chlorophenyl)ethene (p,p'-DDE) and methylsulphonyl metabolites of PCB (MeSO2-PCB) and p,p'-DDE (Meso2-DDE) were determined in human blood plasma, adipose tissue and liver. 4. 14. Development of Dual-broadband Rotational CARS for Combustion Diagnostics

    Author : Joakim Bood; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; N2; O2; C2H2; Dimethyl Ether DME ; High pressure; Stray light filtering; multi-point CARS; CARS; Temperature; Engine knock; Physics; Fysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Bood;

    Abstract : The present thesis concerns development and application of dual-broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (DB-RCARS) for temperature and species concentration measurements in combustion processes. Both fundamental development of the technique, including experimental as well as modelling results, and measurements in practical combustion devices were conducted. READ MORE

  5. 15. Palladium-Catalyzed Carbonylation and Arylation Reactions

    Author : Jonas Sävmarker; Mats Larhed; Gary Molander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; palladium; carbonylation; styrene; amidine; aryl ketones; aryl sulfinates; ESI-MS; aryltrifluoroborates; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Palladium-catalyzed reactions have found widespread use in contemporary organic chemistry due to their impressive range of functional group tolerance and high chemo- and regioselectivity. The pioneering contributions to the development of the Pd-catalyzed C-C bond forming cross-coupling reaction were rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010. READ MORE
