1. Symplectic methods for Hamiltonian isospectral flows and 2D incompressible Euler equations on a sphere
Abstract : The numerical solution of non-canonical Hamiltonian systems is an active and still growing field of research. At the present time, the biggest challenges concern the realization of structure preserving algorithms for differential equations on infinite dimensional manifolds. Several classical PDEs can indeed be set in this framework. READ MORE

2. On Numerical Methods for the Diffusion Equation Subject to Non-Local Boundary Conditions
Abstract : In the first paper three different finite difference methods for solving the heat equation in one space dimension with boundary conditions containing integrals over the interior of the interval are considered. The schemes are based on the forward Euler, the backward Euler and the Crank-Nicolson methods. Error estimates are derived in maximum norm. READ MORE

3. Symplectic methods for isospectral flows and 2D ideal hydrodynamics
Abstract : The numerical solution of non-canonical Hamiltonian systems is an active and still growing field of research. At the present time, the biggest challenges concern the realization of structure preserving algorithms for differential equations on infinite dimensional manifolds. READ MORE

4. On Hypersurface Coamoebas and Integral Representations of A-Hypergeometric Functions
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with coamoebas and their connection to integral representations A-hypergeometric functions. In the first part, we introduce the lopsidedness criterion for coamoebas, and define the lopsided coamoeba. We show that the lopsided coamoeba comes naturally equipped with an order map. READ MORE

5. Tropical aspects of real polynomials and hypergeometric functions
Abstract : The present thesis has three main topics: geometry of coamoebas, hypergeometric functions, and geometry of zeros.First, we study the coamoeba of a Laurent polynomial f in n complex variables. We define a simpler object, which we call the lopsided coamoeba, and associate to the lopsided coamoeba an order map. READ MORE
