  1. 21. Nitro compounds for use in explosive charges

    Author : Stefan Ek; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This first part of this thesis describes synthesis of and characterisation of energetic plasticisers. The general concepts and requirements of energetic plasticisers are introduced. The remainder of this part further describes the work published in three publications. READ MORE

  2. 22. Microbial communities and nitrogen cycling functions in barrier systems for treatment of nitrogen polluted water

    Author : Maria Hellman; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Water is an increasingly threatened resource. Anthropogenic input of nitrogen (N) to surface waters causes eutrophication, and N in the groundwater can be a threat to human health, hence management measures are needed. READ MORE

  3. 23. Numerical and experimental studies of blast loading

    Author : Björn Zakrisson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : In the past decade, there has been an increasing demand from governments for high level protections for military vehicles against explosives. However, designing and validation of protection is a time consuming and expensive process, where previous experience plays an important role. READ MORE

  4. 24. NMR Studies of Gel-Emulsions; Diffusometry and Applications of Novel Field Gradient Techniques

    Author : Carin Malmborg; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; modulated gradients; imaging; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; NMR; emulsion; diffusion;

    Abstract : The aim of these studies has been to investigate what information that can be obtained on gel-emulsions with nuclear magnetic resonance, NMR, as the investigating tool. The gel-emulsions are important in many technical applications such as in food products, in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, and in emulsion explosives, just to name a few applications. 5. 25. Microbial nitrate removal from mining waters

    Author : Maria Hellman; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Mining activities cause high levels of nitrogen in the process water. The nitrogen originates from the blasting procedure, where undetonated explosives in the form of ammonium nitrate dissolve in the water. Part of the water is discharged to receiving water bodies where it may cause environmental problems. READ MORE
