1. Fischer-Tropsch and FAME Fuels as Alternatives for Diesel Engines; an Experimental Study
Abstract : Research into alternative fuels is necessitated by our heavy reliance on limited oil reserves and increasingly strict emissions legislation. The studies reported in this thesis involved conducting engine tests using alternatives to fossil Diesel fuel in both heavy-duty and light-duty single cylinder engines. READ MORE

2. Deactivation of SCR catalysts - Impact of sulfur and the use of biofuels
Abstract : In a near future, limits on CO2 emissions from vehicles will be introduced, which requires development of more fuel-efficient engines and most likely a transition towards the use of more biofuels. With the implementation of biofuels several issues could arise, one being the lack of fuel standards for these new type of fuels, leading to higher concentrations of catalyst poisons compared to conventional fossil fuels. 3. Effects of trace elements in biodiesel on the performance of diesel oxidation catalysts in heavy-duty vehicles
Abstract : To reduce net greenhouse gas emissions, a shift towards adoption of biofuels is ongoing in the transport sector. Heavy-duty diesel vehicles are equipped with aftertreatment equipment, comprising of catalysts and filters, and how this equipment is affected by the use of biofuels is not yet fully understood. 4. Thermally cured coil-coatings utilizing novel resins and fatty acid methyl esters as reactive diluents
Abstract : Solvent-borne thermally cured coil-coating resins contain large amounts of volatile organic solvents in order to obtain suitable flow for film application. This work describes how the expensive and environmental hazardous volatile organic solvent content of a solvent-borne thermally cured polyester/melamine coil-coating system can be reduced by introduction of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) as reactive diluents and modification of the polyester binder resin. 5. Supercritical Hydrogenation of Vegetable Oils
Abstract : Vegetable oils were hydrogenated in a supercritical single-phase mixture with propane and hydrogen. The reaction was carried out in a small (0.5 ml) fixed-bed reactor and the influence of different process parameters was investigated. READ MORE
