  3. 3. Analysis of halogenated fatty acids in fish lipids by gas chromatography with electrolytic conductivity detection and mass spectrometry

    University dissertation from Analytical Chemistry, Lund University

    Author : Huiling Mu; [1996]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; metabolism.; identification; methanolysis; enzymatic hydrolysis; chlorinated fatty acids; organohalogen compounds; mass spectrometry; Gas chromatography; electrolytic conductivity detection; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Organochlorine compounds in fish lipids were characterized by studying the partitioning of chlorinated species into acidic and neutral fractions before and after hydrolysis of the lipids, and after transesterification to fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs). Chlorinated fatty acids (Cl-FAs) were found to be the major organochlorine components in the fish lipids. READ MORE

  4. 4. Thermally cured coil-coatings utilizing novel resins and fatty acid methyl esters as reactive diluents

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Katarina Johansson; KTH.; [2008]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coatings; Coil-coatings; Thermal cure; Reactive diluents; Fatty acids; Transesterification; Hyperbranched polyester resins; Film properties; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry Polymer chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : Solvent-borne thermally cured coil-coating resins contain large amounts of volatile organic solvents in order to obtain suitable flow for film application. This work describes how the expensive and environmental hazardous volatile organic solvent content of a solvent-borne thermally cured polyester/melamine coil-coating system can be reduced by introduction of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) as reactive diluents and modification of the polyester binder resin. 5. 5. Flamelet modelling of soot formation in diffusion flames

    University dissertation from Fire Safety Engineering

    Author : Anne Simone Dederichs; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2004]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental technology; Emissions; Pollution; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp;

    Abstract : In this work the steady and unsteady flamelet models have been applied to soot formation in laminar and turbulent diffusion flames. The aim was to study how different model parameters affect soot formation in diffusion flames. It was shown that certain assumptions are more crucial in laminar diffusion flames than in turbulent ones. READ MORE
