  1. 31. Fighting For Food? : Investigating Food Insecurity as a Source of Urban Unrest

    Author : Ida Rudolfsen; Hanne Fjelde; Halvard Buhaug; Idean Salehyan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; food insecurity; urban unrest; organizational networks; Johannesburg; South Africa; urban Africa; Peace and Conflict Research; Freds- och konfliktforskning;

    Abstract : Under what conditions does food insecurity lead to urban unrest? This dissertation contributes to the burgeoning literature on this topic by introducing a multifaceted conceptualization of experienced food insecurity, and by developing a context-specific framework for food-related unrest. It investigates the effect of experienced food insecurity on citizens’ willingness to participate in unrest, and how a favourable structural context in the form of organizational networks moderates this relationship. 2. 32. Epidemiology and prevention of football injuries

    Author : Martin Hägglund; Jan Ekstrand; Lars Engebretsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Football; Injury prevention; Incidence; Re-injury; Rehabilitation; Elite; Social medicine; Socialmedicin;

    Abstract : The aims of this thesis were to study the incidence, severity and pattern of injury in male and female elite football players; to study time trends in injury risk; to identify risk factors for injury; and to test the effectiveness of an intervention programme aimed at preventing re-injury.All studies followed a prospective design using standardised definitions and data collection forms. 3. 33. Quality Assurance in Radiotherapy - Development and evaluation of new tools for improved patient safety

    Author : Fredrik Nordström; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; monitor unit verification; in vivo dosimetry; real-time verification; gel dosimetry; 4D dosimetry; IMRT; VMAT; data integrity; radiotherapy; Quality assurance;

    Abstract : Preparation for radiotherapy is a complex procedure that involves many different technologies and groups of professionals. The rapid development and introduction of new technologies throughout the last decade have made it possible to deliver highly conformal, individually-shaped dose distributions with high accuracy. Abstract : Users of heavy trucks, as well as legislation, put increasing demands on heavy trucks. The vehicles should be more comfortable, reliable and safe. Furthermore, they should consume less fuel and be more environmentally friendly. For example, this means that faults that cause the emissions to increase must be detected early. READ MORE

  5. 35. Probing and improving coherence in Free-electron lasers

    Author : Mihai Pop; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Accelerators; Free electron laser; Synchrotron radiation; Coherence; Young double-slit; spectrum analysis; Simulations;

    Abstract : Free electron lasers or FELs, have transformed the way science has been done in the last decades by providing coherent, highly brilliant radiation at wavelengths not achievable with conventional lasers. Their most important characteristic, along side brightness, is their coherence, which allows users to perform experiments that rely on precise phase characteristics of the probing radiation. READ MORE
