Abstract : An out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is a life-threatening event with very high early mortality. More than 50% of the patients who reach the emergency ward die, showing clinical signs of brain damage during the first weeks after admission. 2. Microstructure of Cermets
Abstract : The microstructure of several TiC-TiN-Mo2C-WC-Co/Ni model alloys and a commercial (Ti,Ta,W,Mo)(C,N)-(Co,Ni) type cermet was studied using x-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analytical electron microscopy and atom probe field ion microscopy. In addition thermodynamical calculations were made in order to understand the development of the microstructure during sintering. READ MORE

Abstract : Aims: The overall aims of this thesis were: a) to compare stroke unit (SU) care and its continuum with care on general wards (GW) for elderly patients, concerning resource use and costs for care and rehabilitation focusing on assistive technology in a one-year follow-up and, b) to explore the use and cost of assistive devices (ADs), ability in daily activities and self-rated health-related quality of life (HRQL) longitudinally.Methods: Two hundred and forty-nine persons >70 years were followed in a randomized, prospective study evaluating SU care after acute stroke.
