  1. 16. Human papilloma virus : association with vulvovaginitis and genital intra-epithelial neoplasia

    Author : Elisabeth Bodén; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In many women with gynecological complaints such as itching, burning, discharge, and fissures causing dyspareunia, examination of the vulvovaginal mucosa reveals hyperkeratotic and papillomatous changes. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique revealed 64% of such lesions to harbour Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)- DNA, whereas Southern blot (SB) technique showed 50% to be positive for HPV- DNA. 2. 17. Dynamics of higher order chromatin structures

    Author : Xingqi Chen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : During the last few decades, the intensive focus on microscopy observations and genome sequencing analyses has proved that the genomic DNA is packaged in the non-random manner in the nucleus of interphase cells. Accumulated evidence have thus documented that the chromatin organization in 3D plays key roles in central biological processes, such as transcription, replication and DNA repair. READ MORE

  3. 18. Soil Salinity and Crop Yield at El-Salam Canal Area, Egypt

    Abstract : Soil salinity and solute movements through the soil are considered the most important challenge facing agriculture in Arid and Semiarid regions (e.g., Egypt). READ MORE

  4. 19. Analysis of chromosomal rearrangements and gene copy number changes in breast cancer cells

    Author : Pär Lundin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Genome changes in terms of numerical chromosomal aberrations and structural rearrangements, including deletions, amplifications and translocations, gradually accumulate in the genome during tumor development. These genomic changes are likely to play an important role in the process of tumor progression. READ MORE

  5. 20. The clinical value of genetic analyses of bone and soft tissue tumors

    Author : Charles Walther; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Tumors of bone and soft tissue are common but only constitute 1 % of all malignant tumors. The malignant tumors are often difficult to diagnose due to their rarity and morphological resemblance between subtypes. This makes the diagnostic process challenging. READ MORE
