    Abstract : A new type of Bioelectronic Nanosensor Device with potential applications in medicine,biotechnology and environmental analysis was designed. The nanosensor is based on RISFET (Regional Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) technology. READ MORE

  2. 2. Computer methods for voice analysis

    Author : Svante Granqvist; KTH; []
    Keywords : voice analysis; perceptual analysis; fundamental frequency; correlogram; aperiodicity; Fourier analysis; high-speed imaging; laryngoscopy; vocal fold vibration; voice accumulation.; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of five articles and a summary. Thethesis deals with methods for measuring properties of thevoice. The methods are all computer-based, but utilisedifferent approaches for measuring different aspects of thevoice. Paper I introduces the Visual Sort and Rate (VSR) method forperceptual rating of voice quality. READ MORE

  3. 3. Convexity, Currents, and Lelong numbers

    Author : Aron Lagerberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; complex analysis; convex analysis; currents; Lelong numbers; tropical geometry; L^2-estaimtes; Legendre transform; intersection theory; real Monge-Ampere operators; plurisubharmonic functions; integrability index; L^2-estaimtes;

    Abstract : This thesis treats different aspects of convexity, both real and complex. On the real side, we study convexity in relation with certain currents. On the complex side, we study the singularities of plurisubharmonic functions. READ MORE

  4. 4. Rethinking Social Impact Assessment through Urban Design: Towards designerly evaluation with a socio-form approach

    Author : Joanna Gregorowicz-Kipszak; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SIA; analysis; transversality; SOCIO-FORM approach; research through design; built form; the social; urban design; space of possibilities; assessment; social impact; knowledge hub;

    Abstract : Tools for assessing the social impact of urban designs are being developed internationally and in Swedish municipalities. While methodological development is underway, a theoretical discussion about the implications of urban design on social impact assessment (SIA) and its critical potential is rare, leading to the situation whereby much SIA is instrumental and might act against reinforcing and improved integration of the social dimension into the practice of urban planning and design. 5. 5. Analysis of Dynamics of the Tippe Top

    Author : Nils Rutstam; Stefan Rauch; Hans Lundmark; Tudor Ratiu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The Tippe Top is a toy that has the form of a truncated sphere with a small peg. When spun on its spherical part on a flat supporting surface it will start to turn upside down to spin on its peg. READ MORE
