  1. 21. Wood Hydrolysate for Renewable Products

    Author : Yingzhi Zhu Ryberg; Ulrica Edlund; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Ann Cornell; Louise Staffas; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wood hydrolysate; hemicellulose; oxygen permeability; PALS; film; coating; CMC; chitosan; HSP; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : Renewable biomass has been used by mankind for a long time for different purposes, from simply food to industrial products. Among a large family of polysaccharides, hemicellulose is non-edible but has shown a potential in many industrial fields such as medicine, agriculture and packaging. READ MORE

  2. 22. Adsorption Properties of MFI-Type Zeolite Films for Upgrading of Biofuels

    Author : Amirfarrokh Farzaneh; Mattias Grahn; Marc-Oliver Coppens; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : With the depleting reservoirs of fossil fuels, increasing environmental concerns for flue-gas emissions from fossil-fuel combustion and growing world population, the need for the development of new sustainable fuels is higher than ever. However, to be able to compete with today’s mature technologies for production of fuels from fossil sources, new efficient processing alternatives for upgrading of biofuels must be developed. 3. 23. Interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum - Supported catalysts and chemical sensors

    Author : Elin Becker; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Periodic operation In situ spectroscopy; XAS; CO; Sensing mechanism; Low-temperature activity; XANES; Pt; Environmental catalysis; Support material; CH4; Chemical sensors;

    Abstract : This thesis aims at increasing the understanding of the interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum in connection to catalysis and sensor technology for emission control. Specifically, the low-temperature oxidation of methane and carbon monoxide over supported platinum catalysts and the sensor response mechanism towards CO of platinum-based chemical field effect sensors were studied. 4. 24. Physicochemical studies of oxide zinc mineral flotation

    Author : Seyed Hamid Hosseini; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : At the present, zinc is produced mostly from zinc sulphide ores because the sulphides are easy to separate from the gangue and to concentrate by conventional flotation techniques but in the case of oxide zinc ores, the recovery of zinc is not enough high. The objective of the present study is to investigate the influence of different cationic, anionic and mixed collectors on the flotation of smithsonite mineral and an oxide zinc ore at various concentrations and pH values. 5. 25. Sulphide mineral collectors adsorbed on a ZnS internal reflection element : an infrared linear dichroism study

    Author : Margareta Lidström-Larsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical Chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Separation and concentration of minerals by flotation is a well-known industrial process. In this process collector chemicals are used to modify the mineral surface to increase the hydrophobicity of the mineral particles. READ MORE
