  1. 1. Development of a novel experimental technique for studying zeolites : combining zeolite coated ATR elements and FTIR spectroscopy

    Author : Mattias Grahn; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Thin zeolite films have great potential in several novel application areas such as structured catalysts, membranes and sensors. To fully exploit the advantages of these films it is of great importance to determine the adsorption properties of the films. READ MORE

  2. 2. Interactions between Wood Polymers in Wood Cell Walls and Cellulose/Hemicellulose Biocomposites

    Author : Jasna Stevanic Srndovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dynamic FTIR spectroscopy; viscoelasticity; orientation; Norway spruce; protein; glucomannan; xyloglucan; polymer interactions; pectin; imaging FTIR microscopy; primary cell wall; nanocomposite films; dynamic 2D FTIR spectroscopy; xylan; wood fibre; cellulose; secondary cell wall; DMA; lignin;

    Abstract : A wood fibre is a complex multi component biocomposite that is hierarchically organised. The arrangement of a wood fibre on the ultrastructural level is highlycontrolled by the interactions between the main structural polymers, i.e. cellulose, various hemicelluloses and lignin, as well as in some parts also pectin and protein. 4. 4. FTIR Studies and Kinetic Modelling of NOX Reduction and NOX Storage

    Author : Björn Westerberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NOX storage; kinetic modelling; diesel exhaust; alumina; NOX reduction; FTIR spectroscopy; catalysis;

    Abstract : FTIR spectroscopy and kinetic modelling have been used to study catalysts for NOX reduction and NOX storage. For Pt/Al2O3 exposed to NO, oxygen and propene IR-bands associated with nitrates, acetate, formate, carbonates and isocyanate were observed. Experiments with NO, oxygen and HNCO showed that isocyanate is an intermediate for reduction of NOX. READ MORE

  5. 5. Towards Anti-Virulence Antimicrobials, Discovery and Development of Sortase A Inhibitors and Investigations of Bacterial Phenotypes

    Author : Patrick M. Wehrli; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sortase A; SrtA; Inhibitors; Anti-virulence; Bacterial analysis; FTIR spectroscopy; Bacterial phenotyping; Design of Experiment; Multivariate Data Analysis; PCA; ToF-SIMS; Time-of-flight secondary-ion-mass-spectrometry; Lipid analysis; ppGpp; Stringent response;

    Abstract : Antibiotic resistance is an emerging and serious threat to public health. Immediate actions are required to preserve current antibiotics while intensifying research efforts towards the development of new effective therapeutics. READ MORE
