  1. 1. The cholecystokinin receptor family : molecular cloning and pharmacological characterization

    Author : Isabelle Nilsson; Dan Larhammar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Cholecystokinin (CCK) and gastrin are hormones/neurotransmittors of the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system. The receptors for gastrin and CCK are members of the G protein-coupled receptor family. The aim of this study was to clone and pharmacologically characterize vertebrate and invertebrate CCK receptors and splice variants. READ MORE

  2. 2. Family members' experience of palliative home care

    Author : Anna Milberg; Christina Bolund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : family member; palliative home care; Sense of coherence; salutogenesis; comprehensibility; manageability; meaningfulness; powerlessness; helplessness; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : The presence of a family member is often a prerequisite for successful palliative home care. The overall aim of this thesis was to contribute to a deeper understanding of family members' experiences of having a dying relative or friend cared for by advanced palliative home care. Two methodological approaches were used. READ MORE

  3. 3. The calcitonin gene family of peptides : receptor expression and effects on bone cells

    Author : Susanne Granholm; Ulf Lerner; Pernilla Lundberg; Göran Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CT family of peptides; osteoclast differentiation; bone resorption; CTR; CRLR; RAMPs; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The calcitonin gene family of peptides consists of calcitonin (CT), two calcitonin gene related peptides (α-CGRP, β-CGRP), adrenomedullin (ADM), amylin (AMY), three calcitonin receptor activating peptides (CRSP1-3) and intermedin/adrenomedullin2 (IMD). These peptides bind to one of two G protein -coupled receptors, the calcitonin receptor (CTR) or the calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CRLR). READ MORE
